Not sure there is a closed-form analytical solution for POT. However, take your pick of numerical methods: lattice models e.g. binomial, trinomial etc. You can choose to assume the brownian motion stochastics for stock prices. Or...just use ToS like everyone else :) MoMoney.

    Market will close down today

Despite your near incessant and perpetual expressions of incredulity over why the market is going up over the last few days, kudos on making this call! :) It's up there with your 06/08/06 call: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70638

    Pairs Trading with Options

Thank you for the excellent synopsis. I will be giving it a miss! Agree on Vidyamurthy's volume. I think even those without quantitative or scientific backgrounds can glean some useful information with perseverance but you're right about the target audience. MoMoney.

    Pairs Trading with Options

thinkorswim have done a few seminars on the top of pairs trading with options e.g.: http://mediaserver.thinkorswim.com/transcripts/June_21_2006_pairs_trading.pdf Though I believe option positions are used for limited risk purposes rather than leverage. The last thread that attempted to...

It doesn't sound like you intend to gamma scalp systematically. Rather, day trade discretionary with long straddle as "backup". There are some flaws to your plan. Have a look at this old journal. Suggest read all of it right to the end for some possible insights...

Have you tried the cancel/replace technique? I've outsourced the task of cancel/replace to an enterprising company situated in a third-world country. I effectively now have a whole room of people available 24/7 hitting cancel/replace on my orders all day long taking advantage of the no...

Any profitable traders want to make an extra 20% on top of your monthly gains?

This may not be the case depending on the technology. For example, when you place a trade there could be technology to notify their black box such that the black box then mirrors the trade i.e. No strategy needs to be revealed it's simply a matter of mimicking after the fact. I'm sure the OP...

Alas, no free trade if I understand you correctly. Entering diagonals based on getting a credit/minimizing debit is potentially a dangerous exercise if not looked at in the context of the other variables IMHO. One can think of diagonals as a reduced cost calendar spreads. What reduces...

There may be some confusion here. SPAN is a risk-based margin system. SPAN risk-arrays are calculated by the exchange e.g. CME, Euronext.LIFFE, SGX - they all use versions of SPAN risk-based margining. They also provide desktop software e.g. PC-SPAN so that you can decipher the risk-arrays that...

    Cheapest Options Commissions?

Good luck. Each day that goes by there is more pressure to lower commissions across the industry IMO. If you have a decent trading history with them your chances may be good. I know they have gone down to $1.00/contract no ticket charge for some people.

    Cheapest Options Commissions?

Last time I checked, the answer is no. They will not price match anyone. To paraphrase one of the co-founders: "We are not competing with IB" Bear in mind that IB has cancellation fees (though there are credits to offset) Other brokers like Optionsxpress etc. are fair game for price...
