"Options market pricing in a X% move on the stock"

I disagree with the post above. I KNOW that is entirely reasonable to predict a move in the stock by option activity. Note that the info below does not work 100% of the time. If it was, I obviously wouldn't be posting here and would be off in the bahamas.. It all started when I was...

    MBTrading Futures quotes slow

Yes, happends frequently here. I keep a separate monitor up with the CBOT free mini dow book. My charting platform doesn't have LII quotes. Dow usually keeps up OK, except on Fed day, but ES lags every day.. You're not in the minority with this problem.

    SPX / SPY Options Arbitrage?

To throw something else in the mix, you have IVV as well, which trades closely to SPY. Not suggesting anything, just saying that it would be something else you can look into as well.

    order mistakes & validation

Those 3.50 per side commissions will eat you alive, plus the margin requirements are what most brokers charge for "overnight" positions. I think the only reason they offer futures is if you want to hedge index options. Thats just my opinion, though.

I didn't know that they were counted towards the pattern daytrading rule. My mistake, thanks for pointing that out.

Get around Potential Pattern Day Trade at IB?

Single stock futures. They aren't the best to daytrade because of the spreads, but its an option. Speaking of options, you could also open up another account with them perhaps, have it as a cash account with just a little bit in there, and buy deep in the money options. You'll get the...

Contract specifications say they are for 76 SNDK shares + $16.14 http://www.optionsclearing.com/market/infomemos/2006/nov/22340.pdf Anytime you see two strikes for the same price, there is something amiss, and you should find out what the specs are on each contract before you trade them.

    Who has experience with Optionshouse?

What I meant to say was that there is a new ticket charge for each trade. Didn't think it through clearly. But even with that being the case you would be doing pretty well if you did volume. I Didn't really stop to think about that too earlier until you brought it to my attention (imagine...

Getting started - developing a system

Options expire on the 3rd Friday of each month. 19th in January and 16th in Feb. The time value of options decreases exponentially in the week of options expiration. For example, if you made an educated guess, and thought google would end at $500 next Friday, you could do a "butterfly...

Getting started - developing a system

No, if you can read an option chain it shoudn't be too hard. For example, look at the GOOG chain. http://finance.yahoo.com/q/op?s=GOOG Scroll down to where the the rows are not highlighted in yellow in the "call" options section. $500 is in yellow because goog is currently over $500...

    Silly emini question

In regards to the The YM mini contracts, if you hold until expiration, the contracts are settled with a "special quotation price" that is similar to how index options are settled. The opening prices of all 30 stocks of the dow determine the special quotation price. It is my understanding...
