Selecting an appropriate precious metals (Nymex) broker for the infrequently dealing

I think your best bet would be with Xpresstrade . They have exactly what you are looking for. $10 commisions with options on futures (add $10 if broker assisted) , and they don't charge an inactivity fee. Hope that helps.

Where can I get info. on premarket gaps for YM futures ??

Why use CNBC? Your broker should supply you with quotes if you are trading. Use this page from CBOT if you don't have live quotes : http://www.cbot.com/cbot/pub/page1/1,3248,432,00.html Its the live book for the YM and DD. You can also find a live option book in the same area. In...

    Liquidity / Lot Size

Don't quote me on this, as I have only treaded lightly in forex. I believe that I've read on a brokers website that they say you will get filled if you keep your order under 10 large lots (1 mil) . With MB trading you can see how many lots are on the bid/ask, so you can get a better idea of how...

    IB Margin on Iron Condors

Doesn't matter who you use, they are going to have a huge margin requirement if you are selling OEX options naked. The only way to solve the problem is to buy another option to hedge like I said in my example.

    IB Margin on Iron Condors

Imagine that you are selling an option on a 600 stock. A 10% swing in the stock means + or - $6000 loss if you are wrong. Now if you were selling an option on a $60 stock, the loss would only be $600 on a 10% swing not in your favor. Its one of those things you just have to face with...

    Is IB really that bad?

I can't comment on ETFs, but I like TOS the best for options. From what others have said, if you are trading size then you can negotiate commission. Also, there software will install on a thumb drive, so you can just run it from the thumb drive while at work. Just my two cents..

    daytrading loans

100% APR? Are you serious? If you're that hard up, just do an "app-o-rama" with credit cards, use the BT money, and don't pay interest for a year. Its that easy.

You might want to look into a program called Ultramon as well. It makes managing multiple monitors a breeze. Once you try it you'll swear by it.

Install a keylogger that time stamps. If Joe Blow logs into Yahoo mail and enters your user/pass @ 9:00 , then goes to ET at 9:01, well then you've pinned it to the finance person in your family..

    Option MM books

Here is a book that someone posted on another thread a few days ago : http://www.amazon.com/Option-Market-Making-Financial-Commodity/dp/0471578320/sr=8-1/qid=1171582426/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-0037866-9725733?ie=UTF8&s=books Its a bit dated, but I requested it from the library so if its...

    Index Stock Symbols

Options on indicies (not ETFs) are typically traded only on the exchange that "owns" the indicies. For example, CBOE owns the rights to SPX, DJX, MNX. One exchange quoting an option chain means less competition, which hurts you. Sounds like what you are really looking for is ETFs. I heard...

    Index Stock Symbols

USO isn't an "index" of oil. It doesn't seem to follow it too terribly great. There is another thread on ET discussing how it doesn't follow oil to the T, like other ETFs. Here are some of the indicies off the top of my head, symbols in ( ) are going to be actual ETFs you can trade, others...

Currency futures and fill during news

Broker doesn't quote bid/ask on currency futures, you are trading on the CME. Thats like asking if a broker has a tight spread on the ES, its all up to the market.

    P/L Graphs

Thanks for the book recommendation, I've been looking for something like it. And as the other person stated, TOS has the capabilities built into the client to perform this.
