I was just waiting today to see the headline : "Citi retaliates ; downgrades Goldman" :p

Dec FF futures last trade at 95.675 , implying that we're at 4.325 . Latest FF transactions seem to indicate they are keeping things reasonably in line. Anyone got an idea why we are trading around 4.325 instead of higher? I'm probably missing something here, but I'd like to know what I'm missing.

I was under the impression that most ETF's primary exchange is the Amex. Search for any ETF on yahoo finance and see what exchange it populates. Yes the Amex is the most shady of the big 3, but its also the cheapest.

Can you give an example of backtesting with options? I see this on their site, but am having trouble thinking of a way to utilize it.

I do this on Ice all the time in the OTC markets. Minimum tick is .05 (multiplier is 800, so $40). People typically bid in quarters. They get pissed if you come in and "nickel" them. But hell, $40 to cut in line is money well spent.

My guess is its tradeable, but no one trades it. In regards to indexes, once you venture out of the major few, things get really thin. Perhaps try an ETF that mimics the index?

If you are looking at a particular option for a while (about 5 min at most) on a "level II" screen, you can sometimes see one MM at an exchange consistently bidding/offering more agressive than the other exchanges. I.e. 5 exchanges are bidding 1.3, but one exchange is bidding 1.35.

How rediculous are we talking? I know I'm more than likely going to get reamed any route I take, just a matter of who will ream me less.

I dip in slightly the night before, and try to enter full on the next morning. The wings are $10 away, just a normal butterfly. For $3 per, I think its a great risk/reward. I got creamed last expiration though when the whole market tanked. GOOG was sitting around $650 for most of the day, but...

Butterflies on GOOG on expiration day work well for me. Must watch closely though. If you can forecast which strike its going to close at, $3 turns into $9 within the same day.

The official announcement that came over webice stated that Ice Brent, WTI, and Gas Oil markets were affected. Only thing I bothered to glance at was WTI, and lo and behold, it was dead. OTC power was not affected.

Ha! Covered myself tonight at 94.455 for a modest profit.. Didn't want to hold through the announcement either. Any idea why we dropped quite a bit in the overnight sesion? Glad it worked out.

$45 yesterday for the $90 puts turns into $47k today.. 10,000% return.. wow is all I can say..

If you ask them to, TOS will short the shares and exercise on the same day for you , regardless of margin requirements. I know this for sure.
