    In Appropriate Conduct?

I inquired about moving my 457K Deff Comp to my broker's IRA a while back. I wanted to start trading options in an IRA. The national office had a local branch guy contact me and send me the paper work to transfer the funds, but I've yet to fill them out. Yesterday I get a call from the local...

    any option sellers

Do you do it, but you kind of hate it? It does nothing good for my nerves. I was brought to credit spread selling by a golf analogy. You can miss a put three ways. Left, right or short. To eliminate one, you always hit long to eliminate being short. You've got a 1 in 3 chance of winning...

So how are those put selling programs working out?

I've been a put credit spread seller since I got back in the market in late December. Yes I "had my hat handed to me" with the recent actions. For hard real world numbers: I was up 46% YTD. I'm now up 10% YTD. I learned a few lessons, needless to say. So I'm still up for the year...

    Adjustments As Portfolio Grows

I'm not sure which forum to put this in, but this seems like the best bet. I trade weekly option credit spreads on the S&P500, primarily deep OTM puts. Through dumb luck and bi-weekly deposits, my account has doubled. Don't get me wrong, it's still very small by many standards, but as it's...

    Look At Those Fat Premiums...

Wow, don't remember seeing them that fat in a long time... Almost $19 for next weeks 1295 S&P 500 put...wow...

    Ameritrade Raising Option Fees

"This Options Regulatory Fee (ORF) was first implemented in 2009 by the options exchanges and is intended to help them offset their surveillance and regulatory expenses." Another group seeing a big pile of money and wanting to "wet their beak". (Don Fanucci from "The Godfather") "TD...

    Ameritrade Raising Option Fees

I threw that in because many consider them too expensive for option trading.

    Ameritrade Raising Option Fees

"We want to let you know that a small transaction-based fee will be added to all options order executions on or after August 14, 2011. This Options Regulatory Fee (ORF) was first implemented in 2009 by the options exchanges and is intended to help them offset their surveillance and regulatory...

    My Nerves Are Shot

Thanks, I'd rather be lucky than good any day of the week. You know, I look back at the S&P 500 chart and shudder to think if I'd had used the same strategy in 2008  , obviously I wouldn't have lasted long and would have "had my hat handed to me", as the saying goes. Again, I know...

    My Nerves Are Shot

So I feel like I should sit this week, and maybe more, out. I've been ridiculously lucky selling weekly S&P500 deep OTM bull put credit spreads since I started trading again in late December, with this past week being my best week ever. I haven't had a losing position since March. With the...

How Are You Positioned for Tomorrow's Greek News (June-21-2011)?

I think CNBC's coverage with Michelle Caruso Cabrera wearing goggles and a mask is...I can't even think of a word...sensationalism, irresponsible, over the top, bizarre...? Wow...

Does The Number Of Contracts Effect Filling?

Does a limit order for 10 contracts stand a better chance of getting filled than an order for 9 or 11 contracts? Also, are orders filled in the order they were received, or is it random...say if two exact same limit orders were placed 5 minutes apart, does the earlier one get filled first?

    ES Journal Archive (2011)

I'd be stunned. With the action at the end of trading today and the indicators tonight: http://money.cnn.com/data/afterhours/ I would think tomorrow will be a down day. Just my opinion, respectfully. Arnie

    My Nerves Are Shot

Howard, please answer my question in regards to your "scary" comment. Would you be scared being short the S&P 500 1230 puts with the S&P currently at 1285 with 2 and 1/2 days to go? A simple yes or no please.

    My Nerves Are Shot

Now he's bickering with me. Howard, if you're scared being short the 1230's with the underlying being at 1282 with 3 days to go... Well, that kinda says it all.
