You need to have the discipline to cut your loss. Why not cut it before it becomes too big? You're a bigger loser if you hold your loss.

Honestly, from what I've seen, if you're going to buy a breakout.. 9/10 you're better off waiting for a pullback.

Doesn't it depend on your definition of a trend though? Some trends last 1 minute, some last 10 minutes. Some larger trends last years. That's the thing about technical analyses, everybody has different indicators and time periods, draw a line anywhere you want on a chart and you'll find some...

Ive found most indicators to be completely worthless.. I've been practice trading without them for about a year, looking into them for the past 2 months. I added williams A/D I think it's pretty useful and I also use vwap 200 .. Everything else has been garbage

I am on dsl right now, i don't think it's very good. Pretty sure i'm getting cable/fios next week. I'm expecting maybe 20-60 ms. There is also something called leatrix latency fix that you can download. It has a huge increase on my MS while gaming, I'm sure it's the same with market platforms.

Sometimes trading rooms can give alerts for stocks that are in the go.. but it's not anything you can't do with a scanner

Right, but that's kind of my issue. I'll make a great play on a smaller stock and give it all away to a somewhat volatile larger stock with a small % loss.

also, losing the 2k isn't a huge issue, It's just that I'm already 2k in the hole from last year. I actually turned a profit after losing 30% on my first day, but it was really difficult to make a lot of money because fees were half of my loses.
