On Island, it is oldest orders first, regardless of size. ISLD is one of few places that believes in a fair, liquid, transparent market. Otherwise it is usually biggest size first. I've heard that pointdirex allows both ISLD fractions and hidden orders, but aside from prop firms there are not...

Can anyone explain to me why qcharts would want to act as a server? It doesn't need to act as a server to function properly; I'm a little concerned about what it might be sending out if I allowed it to be a server. This isn't the only charting program I've used that has wanted server priviledges.

I only see this regularly for the Q's, but that isn't to say it doesn't happen for other stocks, although I haven't noticed this happening often for other stocks (can't even remember the last time I saw a bad IB quote for a stock I trade). For $2, you can see if the arb opportunity really exists...

It does happen a bit more with IB - the problem is that the TWS quotes are often stale. It happens constantly with QQQ's on BEST - so often that I actually thought it was a real arb opportunity the first time I saw it.

As is probably obvious from my earlier post, I will trade the same stock until it no longer appeals to me. I trade 90% listed. Alot of the time I find that what was once a good stock will get too random for my trading style, and I'll ditch it and move on to something else. This happens about...

The delay is still there, and no, it has not gotten any better (for me) in the past month. I've only seen them for listed stocks, and I still get the blue screen delay whether I select BEST or NYSE routing. (Only about 10% of my trades are nasdaq, almost always using BEST when adding liquidity)...

Trends suck...everybody seems to think they know what the trend is...but lotsa folks get crushed trying to jump on the trendwagon...the problem with the definition of "trend" is that the definition doesn't include "reversal" and when you are most "vulnerable"

When ISN'T there a glitch at IB? The whole place seems rather accident-prone lately...maybe they hired someone who used to work at quote.com and threw a wrench into the works...
