    Oil and Gold ETF"s ???

USO= oil My question is why doesn't it track oil exactly? Sometimes oil is up .30 cents and this USO is down .30 cents.

A solution to the oil crisis: Ban all new Suv and large trucks sales

These are not stories I'm talking about, they are fact. There's company's converting hybrids into plug in hybrids that make a Prius get 250 MPG. Just think if the electric range of 50 miles is enough to get you to work and back, essentially you are not using any gas, so much better than 250...

A solution to the oil crisis: Ban all new Suv and large trucks sales

Instead of banning SUV's why not just ban any vehicle that gets less than 100 MPG. It can be done gradually over the years. We have technology now that can make a monster GMC Yukon get 100 MPG using plug in hybrid.

A solution to the oil crisis: Ban all new Suv and large trucks sales

When I hear of a little piece of crap Toyota making 38 MPG it makes me laugh. I drive a full size 2000 Bonneville with a V6 that gets 34 MPG on long trips with 5 people on board. Those small cars should get a whole lot more. Actually I hear Toyota is coming out with a 2008 Prius that gets 96...

Prepare for $5.50 Gasoline / $.35 KWH Electricity

They must generate a whole lot of revenue in Europe with all that tax on gas. Do you guys have property tax there in Europe? I wouldn't mind paying such high gas tax if they would eliminate my $9000 a year property tax on my home. That would be a good exchange.

Prepare for $5.50 Gasoline / $.35 KWH Electricity

I agree with you there, we have a lot of conspicuous consumption. Hopefully we can get out of this mess with new technology.

Prepare for $5.50 Gasoline / $.35 KWH Electricity

Europe has been sitting on their ass picking their nose and paying these high prices. It would have been nice in all these years if Europe would have come out with some alternative technology to get rid of oil that the rest of the world can use. Looks like we have to do everything around here...

GM - what are the chances of bankruptcy?

Good point, but my test does not take into consideration the initial quality that is covered by the manufacturer anyway. I'm looking at it from a consumer point of view. GM has longer durability and less money out of my pocket. Comparing size of vehicles GM has above average MPG, for example...

GM - what are the chances of bankruptcy?

These foriegn countries have strict limitations of imports as USA should. They used to have 15% cap on imported cars here in the US, now there is no cap and it's what 40% or so and getting worse. You won't find many Cadillacs in Germany to compare. If you go back and look at my test it was...

GM - what are the chances of bankruptcy?

Nothing is perfect but in a unbiased test I posted a few pages above Cadillac was tops in long term durability. Trust me, no one would drive a car 370,000 miles if it were not ultra reliable. What people who drive 50,000 miles a year or more do is keep their cars until the repairs cost more...

GM - what are the chances of bankruptcy?

I say Cadillac, Corvette, or a Viper. I had a BMW and they stink. My father currently has a BMW and he's constantly at the mechanics.

GM - what are the chances of bankruptcy?

If everyone had your opinion we would be better off.:)

GM - what are the chances of bankruptcy?

That's exactly my point, we have no choice in most things we buy, they are all from China. Someday we will not have a choice in our cars either if we continue down this path. This new generation is expected to have a lower standard of living than the last generation in the US, for the first...

GM - what are the chances of bankruptcy?

That may very well be, but from my unbiased research looking at cars for sale at autotrader.com , GM is at the top of long term durability in high miles. Also the only way I would buy a foriegn car is if they offered something I cannot get in this country, a plug in hybrid that has battery's so...

Significant Reduction in Petroleum / Gasoline Prices, HOW?

Here's a nice chart showing what has happened to oil production. All we need to do is cut back 60% of usage with alternatives, very possible.

Significant Reduction in Petroleum / Gasoline Prices, HOW?

I agree with you 100%, but they already are doing things to you, while they are at it, maybe they can do something for you. Currently they are going out of their way to screw the American worker by pushing for globalization, and they stay out of the way when corporations send all the good...

Significant Reduction in Petroleum / Gasoline Prices, HOW?

Actually I'm surprised Europe has sat around paying these high prices all these years without having any incentive to do something about it with plug in electric vehicles. Do we have to do everything in this world? LOL

Significant Reduction in Petroleum / Gasoline Prices, HOW?

Limit, I just want to correct you on this. 1 US gallon = 3.7854118 liters

    XTHN, PEIX Ethanol

Cellulose Ethanol doesn't have that problem because it comes from organic waste like bark. We have enough waste to replace 25% of all gasoline used. Another 30% or so and we take big terrorist foriegn oil out of the picture entirely. The extra 30% can come from switchgrass grown in...

XTHN has a lower cash on hand than I feel comfortable with at these prices.
