Is a Bear 3X Commodity ETF Worse than 3X Bull Commodity ETF?

Is that really true? Everyone knows that these leveraged etfs go to zero over time, so don't you think that finding shares to short would either be very hard to find or very expensive? Just blindly shorting these etfs is no edge.

    order efficiency ratio at IB

Since IB is so big, if they let everyone go crazy with their OER, maybe it eats significantly into their bandwith or possible fines from exchanges? Just guessing here.

    TastyTrade Method

The last 5-10 minutes is the important part of the video if someone doesn't want to watch the whole thing. It seems like Tom is saying there is a built in "house" edge to selling options which is why you can still make money selling options even with the efficient market hypothesis.

    TastyTrade Method

I in general like what they are doing educating people, but there are some small annoyances that I have with them. The 2 major ones are saying it's free to close trades and acting like span margin isn't a thing. Yes, technically it is free to close the trade, but you can think of it as the...

    Calculating the P&L for the 6A, 6C, 6J, 6E, etc.

They didn't decrease the size of E6 when they halved the tick value though. The micro futures are still 10% the size of a normal contract, which is a pretty substantial difference.

Tightening stops day prior to earnings report?

True, but I think he was specifically referring to moves afterhours on earnings reports. In those situations, liquidity does pretty much evaporate for many stocks.

Tightening stops day prior to earnings report?

How are you comparing crude oil that trades with good liquidity throughout the whole day to stocks that have barely any liquidity during the extended trading hours?

    Top Advantages of Forex Trading

Is this even true anymore with the addition of micro contracts at the cme? Do people actually trade smaller lots than 10,000? I just don't see the point of trading forex when you can just do it through futures and know 100% it is legit and almost always have lower costs too.

Stop Limit orders outside of regular trading hours

Like Robert said, don't use stop limits in afterhours trading. It is too easy to get picked off. If you are concerned about earnings and don't want to sell your position, use options as a hedge.

Questions on Standard Margin/ Intraday Margin

It is definitely just a policy that the brokerage employs to avoid risk. Reading their margin page, this sentence sticks out to me, "Strict adherence to the Intraday Margin Policy (provided upon funding account) is necessary to maintain day trading margin privileges." This also means that OP...

Questions on Standard Margin/ Intraday Margin

That would be insanely good if the platform can calculate the spread margin for manually entered spreads and then apply daytrading margin to it. Doing it with exchange supported spreads is no big deal though.

Best future contracts for medium term trading?

You could try trading the 10yr. Corn is like the Eurodollars of grains imo. Most anything in the futures market will have good liquidity, so don't worry about it. Just find what you want to trade.

    Marketsurfer says short CapitalOne

To be fair, it does say "entering orders at" and not that he was short at that price.

    Ag trade ideas

Is it normal for the spreads to go completely crazy when near term prices get squeezed like they did in live cattle? The June/Aug spread jumped over 5cents the last few days.

    CTS bugs tonight

Well, I had no old orders so I can't comment on that. I would suspect that any limit GTCs would get moved though but that is pure speculation. My limit orders did initially get set at the price I wanted and then would be moved afterwards.

    CTS bugs tonight

For me personally, any limit order i put in during this time would soon after be revised to join the bid/ask. My limit orders did not become market orders. I don't know if this happened to stop orders, though it is possible, because I refused to put in a stop order after I saw that happen.

    CTS bugs tonight

I was trading when it happened but fortunately came out fine from it. Terrible timing for them on the day it decides to bug out. They had it fixed 45 minutes after the open on Sunday. What was going on was T4by itself would move your trade to the bid/ask, even if you had your limit price far...

IB and exchange-supported spreads and data

Well if you decide to use eSignal with IB, you can get the real time globex data on eSignal for free. I think you have to do a certain amount of trades per month, but it is really small if I remember correctly. I sent IB an email about exchange supported spreads because I was considering them...

    SpreadProfessor Openings

lol, I like how you ignored about 3/4ths of my post. Plus you never answered the points I made earlier, pretty funny. How is Bone suppose to disprove he isn't making aliases? I guess you really are just hateful and troll like.

    SpreadProfessor Openings

    1. The example you use is horrible and does not relate. Like I said, how can Bone disprove that he is without a doubt not using multiple aliases? That doesn't even make sense, and the burden of proof would be on you. What you asked is like saying prove God does not exist. It doesn't make sense...
