Nice to see some people getting filled today. I couldn't get filled on the Aug 1170/1180 puts yesterday and I'm having no luck on the 1345/1355 Aug calls right now. With both the puts and call I was/am .10 under the mid but no takers yet.

I'm looking at the mid vs. the theoretical price using TOS. There is definately a good sized difference between the two in many cases. I tried to get a fill that was .10 under the theo price and .25 under the mid and no luck.

SPX is up 10 points and VIX is down only .15. Not sure what to make of this.

The mid on the 1310/1320 calls in now $1.10  That is a good credit but just too close to the money for me, especially after losing money in June.

At this point looks like there is short term upward momentum for the market. We could hit the 1290 target Wed/Thur. Would you do a July or Aug spread? A July 1305/1310 would give you about 1.30 if we hit 1290 on Thursday with drop in the VIX of 2. With Aug spreads you could go out to...

Only 17 days to expiration so time to put on July positions has pretty much passed for FOTM credits. Here is what I am finding this morning (going roughly 2 sigmas out): 1210/1220 July put spread = $.50 mid The 1220 short has a probability of expiring OTM of about 10% 1330/1340 July call...

That happens every time to just about everybody, me included. I think everybody is waiting for tomorrow's Fed rate change and then the comments that will be out Thursday (I think). Those 2 things should give us some direction and opportunity to put on some spreads. Just burning time until then.

I'm just getting back from a long vacation and found about 30+ pages to catch up on, great discussions going on! I've been up for the last few hours trying to catch up. I think I have really hit the point of no return, I read some of Cottle's book on vacation (I even remember reading the...

I'm taking the laptop with me too. I will have dial-up access next week at the condo but will be in the middle of nowhere the following week in a cabin with no cell phone, land line or anything (that will be nice).

It's not very pretty at the moment but the CTM is losing a lot less than the FOTM if you are looking for a silver lining. The FOTM is losing over 3x the initial credit while the CTM is "only" losing .5x the initial credit and we are down to the long strike  May 16th 10 June 1215/1225...

If anybody is looking to enter positions around 45 days out and close around 15 now is the time. My concern right now is the 6/14 CPI data and the 6/29 Fed meeting so I'm holding off, at least until the CPI data.
