    Another GLD Autumn Rally?

Been gathering info on Butterflies today. Now I can look at this too. Thanks.

    Another GLD Autumn Rally?

GLD chart is looking good. 170 seems very realistic in the near term. Some stats from the past: Late Summer-Autumn Rally 2009: approx. +30%. Late Summer-Autumn Rally 2010: approx. +25%. Late Summer-Autumn Rally 2011: approx. +30%. If the thesis is correct, and this year's rally began...

These are "Iron Butterflies" you're talking about? Have some articles and videos about those already in my 'peuter.

Read about them both in passing, but haven't tried them yet. Like what you're saying about Butterflies. Will check those out first...

    Another GLD Autumn Rally?

Less complex trades for me (all I know how to do!), with lots of time till expiration (helps me sleep better!): January GLD 150/149 Bull Put Spreads January GLD 165/164 Bull Put Spreads March GLD 175 Calls March SLV 30 Calls

    Another GLD Autumn Rally?

Yes, the terminology barrier in Options World is not always easy to deal with. There are several ways of saying the same thing too, which adds to the complexity. Still, I'm starting to get a handle on some of the handles, and have been enjoying the journey more and more. Especially on...

    Another GLD Autumn Rally?

Uhhhh.... Me no pair 'em, swap 'em before. What's left of my brain has a hard enough time with Singles, Spreads and Condors! Let me know if you do it, so I can follow along. :)

    Another GLD Autumn Rally?

SLV still doubling GLD percentage wise. Lots of clear sky up above... Next stop 30+?

    Another GLD Autumn Rally?

Great timing. Twelve minutes after I posted this the QE3 News came out, and GLD shot up like a rocket! :p

    Another GLD Autumn Rally?

Very organized approach, and a great 1 month return (around 87%) if GLD closes at 159 or above on September 21st. What's your risk control method? When will you bail if GLD goes down? Or will you hold all the way to Expiration Friday?

    Another GLD Autumn Rally?

Long term they're pretty much joined at the hip. But short term SLV is a lot more quirky and erratic. Here's a good article about SLV vs. GLD by my fav precious metals guru, Adam Hamilton: http://www.zealllc.com/2012/silvund.htm :)

    Another GLD Autumn Rally?

Everyone's starting to assume the "melt-up" is going to happen, so of course Mr. Market will probably stick it to us with a pullback! We're certainly due, after watching SPY go up since early June, all the way to a new 4 year high. AAPL was getting parabolic, so coming back in a bit would be...

FB support at 50% of IPO price?

So far it looks like you called it nillionaire. I still don't get the rationale behind the trade, but the numbers and price action don't lie. This guy agrees with you too: http://blogs.wsj.com/marketbeat/ Are you gonna take the profits and run, or hold on for more?

    Charts of Note

Thanks for this idea, which I read about before the opening in your "View From The Turret". Made a small initial purchase after the bell with FSLR at 21.26, via a March 23 Call. Already ahead on the trade, which is normally a positive sign. If your thesis is correct, I'll be adding to the...

FB support at 50% of IPO price?

It's good you're looking for patterns, but a support level needs to be longer than 1 day. In FB's short life, I've seen 3 sideways channels which could be called support levels. They're marked on the attached chart at around 31 (lasted 18 days), 28 (lasted 8 days), and 20 (lasted 10 days)...
