Once you get used to thinking in terms of exposure it really isn't complex at all. . ..but it also isn't a "grand neutral" strategy either.. just shifting risk around, tiz all, plus it was directed at OldTime's dialogue, having little to do with what you want out of options. :/

For unequal exposures you'd just have to work out your net exposure for a single currency in that single currency's units and compare it to the possible substitute (like your EUR half for more USD, or the other way around,) knowing you won't get a perfect fit. Now, I'm tired and I'm going to...

If it meets your needs, options on FXE doesn't sound bad, and spreads/liquidity seems ok (not great, but not the worst I've seen.) I'd just rather trade the underlying contract (futures) or spot than an ETN based on them.

If you're holding the ETFs (you mentioned FXE) as your underlying exposure, then options on them could work just fine. ICE has some options on currencies, but you can't really trade the underlying.. just the options themselves. (Talking about their equity option style offering, not options on...

Specifically, you are long AUD and GBP as priced against the EUR and USD currencies. Not that you seem like a trader who's into this sort of thing, but your structured in a way that a position in EUR/USD could instantly shift your US Dollar bias for AUD and GBP > Like, your long AUD & GBP...

While it's great that you've made progress with supporting FX brokers, I'd be very cautious about going the 'report upload' method of tracking performance. The report HTML files that MT4 generates can be doctored quite easily, and there's no way to verify if it's a real money account or...

Kinda spreading FUD with that comment. Evil brokers will be evil despite the software they use. MT4 Server has a bunch of extensions by third parties to do various tasks, dealing desk brokers who want to screw with clients have tools at their disposal to do so.. ..but you'd be kidding...
