    Current Margin requirements

We can set you on a futures trading platform and help you set up a margin appropriate for your trading. For example, we can set up 50% for day trading, so you do not over trade. You can choose a web-based execution or a downloadable product.

    VPN's for Trading While Traveling?

I am not sure whether you trade Futures or not, but some credentials that are used for a downloadable program could be sometimes used for a web-based execution. For example. if you use CQG then you can use the same credentials for their CQG web-based when you travel, and use your downloadable...

We need big losses from time to time, to rethink the strategy and improve it?

No question you need to learn from mistakes. In my opinion, you should apply the same level of learning depth when it comes to positive experiences in the market. Learning what you do well and repeating it is crucial in my opinion.

Wiped out selling naked puts with no stop loss or credit spread

If you look at the landscape of CTAs, Funds, and other money managers who were engaged in shorting volatility, you would see that professionals were just as affected as retail if not more on Feb 5, 2018. This was reflected in two ways: 1) The losses and drawdowns that pros had 2) The...

We should check student loans in this country versus others. I think that would put in perspective how the future generation is treated.

how do i calculate the margin i will need

Theoretically, the long option value should subtract from the margin requirements, but each FCM has its own risk parameters to calculate that so you would need to talk to your futures broker and run the specific scenario. This is my suggestion.

how do i calculate the margin i will need

First, you have to decide the whether you are a day trader or position trader. Each FCM holds it's own day trading policies. If you keep positions overnight, you just need to see what are the margins that are dictated by the exchanges. If you Google for example "Emini SP Margin" the first...

    Options on ES futures

All FCMs charge upon exercise if it occurs. Weekly and OEM (end of the month), to the best of my knowledge, are based on European Style Expiration. This means that they will only be automatically exercised only on expiration date if the options are determined to be "in the money" based on...

I always seem to sell too early.

In my opinion, this is the most misleading statement for any trader. When you build a method you have to find a way to view the situation objectively and not look at the $$ gain/loss. If you simply look at the $$ you will max out your losses and minimize gains. Those who say that "cant go...

    How to choose a market and/or a product ?

Just some of the criteria would be whether you want to use leverage (cash versus Futures), time frames traded and the ability to gather information from reliable sources. Try to focus on decision making in your early days as opposed to gains. Time will potentially prove that to you.

Poker players make the best traders?

Nice! Good explanation. However, consecutive losses in the marketplace or against a good player are very similar. This is where odds and skills are thrown out and replaced with hope...essentially where players "lose it".

anyone here making 7 figures a year doing this?

Yes! Traders sometimes want to believe that a possibility is also a probability. It's possible to do anything, but its the statistical odds(probabilities) that matter when you trade. When you start thinking along the lines of practical implementation with the odds you may potentially avoid the...
