    four horsemen

With the exception of bidu, EPS trends aren't looking half bad at all (not sure which side you are arguing for with your suggestion). I suppose if they are able to deliver numbers like RIMM, that makes a decent argument for continuation on the long side. My main thought stems from looking at...

    four horsemen

Just thinking out loud here... As compelling as the argument is about not shorting a freight train, I have to admit, there is something alluring about the "short term" shorting potential of these stocks. Or at least being very cautious on the long side. They better make wall street happy...

    correlations now and 1973

Start playing with time and price scale transformations and you really start to see things. I personally fancy this one right now.:) <a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i20.tinypic.com/5x91zb.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> However...

Wow, a whole -11% and 47%! That's a nice link. Goes to show how many years look alike to the aspiring pattern finder.

Why highly intelligent people are NOT happy.

Welcome to existentialism and angst. Sartre... Heidegger.... Nietzsche was found crying like a child and hugging a horse that was whipped in the plaza, when he had his breakdown. Ever notice what happens when extremely intelligent people spend their lives in pursuit of truth? The name...

Didn't surpass as much as I expected. Missed by a penny. However, they also announced 25% buy back (7 bil  ) of ALL outstanding shares. My guess is it opens up and gives market another excuse to continue rally tomorrow.

massively lowered the bar (.65) back to where the trough in aluminum/earnings was in 06. AA just sold a 2bil china stake in chalco recently. That alone is about 25% of Q revenue! Potential for a pop in rev/earnings if they factor it in (assuming they don't "exclude" one time gains of...

    RIMM or not to RIMM

Days runup looks like a colossal fake out. Would think if earnings were going to be stellar (or at least perceived as such), they would tank into close to suck in more shorts. Maybe I'm using to too much reverse psychology, but the run up portends the opposite camp is getting pulled in. Oh...

    Excluding non-recurring items

Welcome to wall street accounting. You'll rarely see excluding one time gains, however.

    JSDA squeeze

Nice pop today and looks like plenty more momentum to go on the upside for a while. Looking back on earnings, they tend to look cyclical and we are right at the bottom of that trend. A surprise to the upside is likely.. then lookout JSDA squeeze.

    RIMM or not to RIMM

------------------------------------------------ Ok, so here's some numbers. Subscriber growth actually doesn't look too bad and the growth curve implies the estimates are pretty reasonable. Considering how smooth that curve is, I doubt they would disappoint here. Whether or not the P/E looks...

    RIMM or not to RIMM

Anyone have a chart of subscriber growth? Or know where to get one? Since fundamental metrics are out the window (P/E ttm 76, P/S = 15), it would be nice to see sub growth and the estimates for the future, since that's all the analysts are harping about with the deluge of upgrades lately.

    JSDA squeeze

look's like she's reviving. Horrendus P/e, but who cares about p/e in this market anyways. Potential breakout -- holding steady while outer markets are weak today.

Computer running at 100% CPU Usage and not sure why

Everything points to either a) trader.exe being the problem b) possibly AMD compatibility problem as other poster mentioned (i.e. trader.exe compatibility problem). Even on your good computer, that is a lot of memory drain for an application. Notice it also hogged double to quadruple the...
