Brokers forward your identity to the market with each trade.

It's amazing to see people thinking they know everything but in fact they know just about shit. We're still waiting for the OP to give us more details (unless he already responded under another nickname...).

Are you asking to get screwed with a limit order above the mkt?

It depends of their (CME) order entry protection parameters. Most of the US exchanges have such controls in their trading engine.

How much latency is too much for day trading?

I'm using IQFeed (their API), along with IB for the trading part, and it works well. Stable, fast, no substantial lag.

It's hard hearing friends making profits, and I am losing money.

People are usually verbose in regards to their wins, but less regarding their losses. And other people success don't have anything to do with yours.

From Micros to Millions: 2% per day

@sstheo, although your Trading Journal is so far impressive and profitable, it only shows a couple of weeks of profitability. Don't get me wrong, I hope you'll succeed, but I think that stating that you are now profitable and that you've finally made it might be a bit premature. IMO, I'd wait...

    Web Based Servers

"web based', "50 to 200 trades per minute" and "smaller retail trader" don't generally go in the same statement. But to answer your question, just google "trading VPS".

How much latency is too much for day trading?

If you're click-trading you shouldn't be concerned with latency at all. Just the time it takes for you to take your trading decision and manually send your order is way beyond any latency you might calculate.

    IB Options Data

If CBOE is not at NBBO (one of the Option exchange part of the CBOE family), you won't see the best price if you subscribe to the CBOE market data feed only. As far as routing orders to various exchanges, if you choose 'Smart Routing', IB will decide where to send your order, usually where the...

Why is IB sending me "expired options" on my Demo Account?

It must be a parameter in your account, cause I'm not receiving any position from them (real or paper).

Programming a price action trading BOT

You're right, but your comment applies for any broker/API. You just need to isolate the OMS (Order Management System) part that interfaces with the broker.

Programming a price action trading BOT

Option Market Maker do need the speed and low latency. PFOF (payment for order flow) has nothing to do with that. The Option MM world is a very competitive one. They all compete against each other. You're right, they are many types of Bots, but HFT are a special type of them.

Programming a price action trading BOT

I have never written that one is better than the other. I don't really care which one is better. I was more questioning your "cloud-based' statement.

Can you use unrealized profit from a Limit order to open more positions in an account?

Yes for Futures, because you are not paying for the 'real' value (nominal value) of the contract, but only a margin. For Stocks and options, you cannot.

Programming a price action trading BOT

"Most professional platforms are cloud-based.."??? Professional for who? Trader, developer? IMO, if you have to ask the question, then don't bother and use Windows, the most popular and used.

From Micros to Millions: 2% per day

Kudo for not giving up on trading after blowing up so many times. Your determination is your biggest asset. The main suggestion I may give you is to automate your trading. It isn't that difficult than it seems. And the main benefit of doing this is you can trade while having a full time job...

From Micros to Millions: 2% per day

You're right, but it's 131 S&P points. In this case, it doesn't matter if he's trading ES or MES.
