Re-read my last post. I'M NOT USING IBGw FOR MARKET DATA. FWIW, I'm using IQFeed (pros: faster, more reliable, simpler to implement. cons: more expensive).

I've been using IBGw for the last 14 years, running 24/7/365, sometimes running 2 instances at the same time (real money + paper trading). Never said that I've never ever had any problem with it. But I don't remember when was last time. I'm using it for order management only, not for market data.

OP asked when the stock options expire, not when they get exercised. Expire = stop trading. When they expire, they can either get exercised, or expire worthless. The exercising action is taken place after the expiration of options.

If you're referring to the US option market, they expire at market close, whether it's 4 pm ET or 1 pm ET (half trading days). For stocks only, not indexes nor ETF.

Not sure where you got your information, but I'm pretty sure it's wrong. Anyway, GTC/GTD are rarely used.

Not sure I understand your problem (with Fidelity), but all option exchanges support GTC/GTD orders if I'm not mistaken.
