Confessions of a loser who need to quit

What's the difference between trading and gambling? It's a question I keep asking myself. I guess the difference lies in having a plan with a positive expectancy. I do not have complete plan and I haven't been good at keeping track of all my trades, but I did take screen shots of most of my...

Confessions of a loser who need to quit

I understand forex is tough, and that is why I am not putting a lot of money into it. One day when I have accumulated enough money, I might open an account to trade stocks. In the mean time, I will just trade in the forex market.

Confessions of a loser who need to quit

It was definitely a mistake, but it was something I stubbornly had to do to see if entry matter--especially when some leading experts mentioned that once you are in a trade, everything is by chance. My next attempt will based on trend and gyration.

Confessions of a loser who need to quit

I don't know how I could be more positive on trading, since I have been losing for the past 7 years. But I will try. I will begin by first viewing my past 7 years as just typical drawdown period (7 years of dd! grrr!) I will also focus on the process rather than the PnL. I remembered a...

Confessions of a loser who need to quit

Here is a chart of the EUR/USD I traded with a really small amount. I got lucky in the first trade, but I wasn't that lucky on my second trade. I should have been more patient on my second trade. The first trade was made based on the gyration of price. The second trade was based on the...

Confessions of a loser who need to quit

I haven't made that many trades, since I couldn't scalp with forex. My last attempt was using a random entry method. Win % was only 38%. The error I have made was using the same fixed pip stop and exit for all currency pairs I trade. I did not take the volatility and the spread of each...

Confessions of a loser who need to quit

The problem I have is coming up with the %. I just assume that the market is like a coin-flip (either go up or down) and use 50% as my probability. I know this is an optimistic percentage, because of all the manipulation going on in the market. If 50% of my trades are profitable, I would...

Confessions of a loser who need to quit

I set my stop-loss and exit right when I make my entry, but I guess my exit could sometime be too far off. I should look at the price action to determine if my exit is reasonable. (not gonna use the word "probable", because I don't know the probability)

Confessions of a loser who need to quit

Yep, I never fully-invested my entire liquid net worth in trading. I invest a minimal amount until I have a proven winning strategy.

Confessions of a loser who need to quit

I have been trading on and off for 7 years. Over those 7 years, I have slowly learning and unlearning what trading is about. Confession #1: I read the book by Mark Douglas and I believe in what he mentioned in his book. Confession: #2: I am close to "getting it" because I now see through...
