Very good advice. Observe one setup, test it, and trade it. Know its strengths and weaknesses, know when its most likely to work and when not. Know how the market conditions affect this one setup/technique. Then you'll have a foundation to build on.

I've traded copper before ... in the mid 90's. I don't have a clue as to what's going on with the fundamentals in copper at this time. As with the other metals, you need to research fundamentals if you're going to trade copper.

Excellent point ! IMO at 92+ it would be obvious that your analysis is proven to be wrong; so that's where I'd put my stop. If the amount of money that you're risking is too much, then it would be better to reduce your position (500 shares vs. 1000 shares for example) than to lower your stop...

You can daytrade Bonds, Currencies, and Oil (crude, heating). You may find that some days these markets don't move much. Some days there is a nice wide tradable range and some days the markets go nowhere. If you don't mind holding positions overnight you can swing trade and get some good...

That's why I trade ES and NQ, knowing that once I get the method down ... the sky is the limit.

Agreed, but reversal is normally short term. The days that we get tick readings +1000 are likely going to be positive days. IMO the reversal from a +1000 tick reading is usually short lived and, if accompanied by an up day with strong volume, is time to get long or add to longs.

You can stay with the initial position (during the nontrending cycles) long enough to make some cash.

June LC had trouble holding (Monday and Tuesday) (5/13-5/14) at the 74.70 area. Put options are building premium. Time for a pause in the most recent bull run. Let's see how Wednesday's action goes.

You could lift the hedge when market conditions change from a nontrending market to one with an established trend. Along with the adjustment in market conditions you can employ the delta neutral strategy.
