    Self-loathing and trading

Great...now we have to prove who makes more money...you had to say something stupid. What a pain in the ass...to have to put a bunch of financial data together just to prove to someone I don't even know, that a person of depth can be really profitable. I promised myself a long time ago I...

    Self-loathing and trading

Bad Ass...how did you get through your losses when you first started trading? If you didn't find out yourself...then someone must of held your hand and taught you...or maybe you've never had losses? You tell us how a trader reaches success when they've been struggling for 5 years!

    Self-loathing and trading

If I had to give advice to my own son (without handing him my methodology in detail)...don't come back to this or any other trading site (sorry BARON) until your confidence and PnL have improved! There's a lot of value in the trading journey that you've accrued to this point...you need to dig...

In need of a black swan event

Excellent points! Since I don't have a crystal ball, I'm very careful about telling anyone my opinion about long term consequences...I don't expect my parents to sell all their mutual funds and I've told them that. They agree with my analyses, but we've decided that it can be very difficult to...

In need of a black swan event

Think about it...is there such a thing as a anti inflation bubble? Like Scrooge McDuck said, people are talking about it, probably not enough of them are though.

In need of a black swan event

I know this is a trading site and not for investors in general, but I've had this recurring thought over the years about black swans, crashes, and volatility. I can understand why traders want more volatility...in many ways it's easier to make money because of more persistent trends and more...

In need of a black swan event

For what it's worth, I read an article on investing.com (too lazy to bring it up at this time) about the most crowded trade at this time...is the anti inflation trade.

Why do more than 90% of traders lose?

How many traders are telling you this? This isn't a common performance, but there are traders out there that can do this. Just focus on your own journey...don't worry about anybody else...if you do, it can cause emotional trading...bad stuff!

Why do more than 90% of traders lose?

After years of experience, yes, most people do improve their trading knowledge...but not necessarily their trading account/profits. It takes more than what direction the chart goes...understanding what drives price action and when conditions change in the market will evade the majority of...

Why do more than 90% of traders lose?

Much agree! Adequate amount of capital is necessary to get through the "LEARNING CURVE"!

Why do more than 90% of traders lose?

In your opinion...why do more than 90% of traders lose? Do you agree with this estimation?
  12. B

Why do more than 90% of traders lose?

Something to understand...once a trader is profitable for a decent period of time and have expressed this "accomplishment" to the world...then their edge fades away and they can't adapt...must save face to preserve respect and credibility from their peers by "faking" their continued success...

Why oil up a lot to 48, but the oil stocks do not follow much?

The oil stocks were going up with oil...recently they've pulled back some while oil has continued higher...if oil keeps breaking out upward, there will be some big UP days for the stocks!

Trading or Investing Instruments That Yield 100%+ Per Year On Large Capital?

    Commodity futures...pyramiding strategies...either direction. Good Luck!

Why oil up a lot to 48, but the oil stocks do not follow much?

At some point.....YES! Traders MORE UNSURE about company balance sheets than the commodity right now and too many fear a glut to go all out for the oil stocks. Another example of disconnect is GOLD to Gold Stocks...trying to re- balance as I write this?

Why do more than 90% of traders lose?

I considered that as well, even though we don't know for sure? I guess that ends that!

Why do more than 90% of traders lose?

Buy1Sell2............PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR "lose a little bit, but max your gain" THEORY IN THIS EXAMPLE! APPARENTLY HE FOLLOWED HIS RULES ALL THE WAY UP AND ALL THE WAY DOWN...

Made $1.15 million in 18 months, lost $1 million in 12 months, will I ever be good at trading?

Exactly my point...too many people saying cut your losses and let your winners run is the only edge out there! Been saying for a long time that market change recognition is very important!

Made $1.15 million in 18 months, lost $1 million in 12 months, will I ever be good at trading?

Which goes to show...a good R:R isn't necessarily good risk management!
