Would you trade with 56K dial-up?

Also: excuse my ignorance, but what's a DTN satellite feed? Is this costly? Can you get your signal in one location or virtually anywhere?

Would you trade with 56K dial-up?

JTrader - interesting. So you're on a laptop or a pocket pc or what? I only follow at the most 10-12 issues at a time. Can it handle this small level of quotes. (And I'm talking just numbers here - not charting.)

Kobe is an adulterer...at a minimum

Imo 20+ years ago people had a tendency to deal with this kind of rape/incest, etc. with much more reluctance. The swept it under the carpet. Now the cultural tide has shifted and with the media boasting of settlement figures, it's another way to win the lottery. (I'm not saying that it's...

Kobe is an adulterer...at a minimum

This is the end of the Wilt Chamberlain era...Any athlete with 30,000 women better have as much cash as George Soras to pay off his legal fees and out of court settlements.

Kobe is an adulterer...at a minimum

Well, she obviously went up to his room for some reason, but keep in mind she was an employee of the hotel and therefore not your typical "groupie" - another strike against Kobe in a trial.

Kobe is an adulterer...at a minimum

My work gets satellite news and they offered some additional circumstantial evidence: she was heard to be screaming in the room, she left the room disheveled and she called police immediately. Of course, it would be possible to do an acting job and set him up, but the media is making it seem...

    S&P 500 looking very toppy

Question: I heard one of the big issues was the price of the yen since it could pull major dollars out of the U.S. mkts? Does anyone know if that is that still a concern?

Would you trade with 56K dial-up?

How low can you go? My goal is to some day trade off of a Pocket PC phone. I'm a swing trader and I want to be over at a friends or at a restaurant trading away if I feel like it. I don't want to be chained to a computer - I want the computer chained to me.

    Market breaking down??

Many of the very best tech/biotech/semi stocks look like they're about to break down into "stage III and/or IV". There's lower than avg volume and many of them have collapsed onto their 15 day ma. For the last few months the buyers always jump in at the last minute and bump things up. But how...

    IB is getting serious...

I think most people don't like IB because they expect some kind of brokerage house pampering. The help guys at IB are just regular guys, kind of techie/ops types, not politically correct, half-stiff-tell-you-what-you-want-to-hear-at-all-costs-types. Plus, I don't think most people appreciate...

Can this market get any more pathetic

This has me, Joe Swing Trader, really curious. From mid March to mid June the SPY and QQQ was generally up. For me this was Trading Fantasy Heaven. I'm curious: from what you guys are saying, that upward trend didn't really help much? Wouldn't an upward bias help even if volatility is...

Can this market get any more pathetic

Oops - sorry. I just noticed that you said he's all technical not fundamental, but I'm still curious about the other questions.

Can this market get any more pathetic

I also have the discipline but am curious about a few things: How does he do in sideways and downtrending markets? Is he as good at going short as long? Does he use fundamentals at all? Does he use price patterns and/or S/R?
