If you take another look at my post it says : "The Eur/jpy closed above its 200 day moving average for 3 consecutive days, according to my backtested system it could be the beginning of a trend so I am buying here with a stop there" So no, each trade is absolutely not based on any personal...

Here are your exact words and I quote : " ... but I think we chop a bit on Euro before a turn and AUD is looking to drop at the highs and do the same" See, now you are obviously letting a personal opinion about the future direction of the market cloud your judgement. In other words, you are...

Last night EUR/GBP trade did not behave "correctly" so I had to close the trade at a loss (16 pips). After years of trading, I noticed that winning trades do not spend much time around the entry price, they usually move in our favor almost from the start. So if the position does not move...

Could be a fake up move, look at all the resistance the USD/CAD is facing now. In fact I am waiting for the first sell signal to short this pair...

possible treasury default, why is yield/tbt not spiking?

The market always discounts big news like this, well in advance, that's why you do not see any major reaction, or so it seems. Personally I do not give a damn about the news or the so called "fundamentals" (it's just stupid noise), I look at the charts and the charts only.

I stopped watching freaking TV a long time ago but I will take a look at these South Park episodes you mentionned (I guess they must be somewhere on the internet), thank you NoDoji.

Good boy, over 2k profit (20 pips) in under 30 minutes. :) Closing half of my positions and moving the stop to break-even. Now the AUD/JPY can go to hell I do not care anymore, I have already earned my money and cannot possibly lose, plus the position has still huge potential :)

Yes, nice wedge on the AUD/JPY. I also just took a short position on that pair, short at 91.40 (20 pip stop). Come on AUD/JPY, go and make me some money now, let's go !

Looks like the EUR/GBP is about the plummet, at least on my "radar". I just opened a short position at 0.8435 with a tight 30 pip stop. What do you think Wwatson1 ? (Fellow traders, this is not a solicitation to short the EUR/GBP, as always trade at your own risk)

Gaps Trading - Too Good To Be True?

A fellow trader and friend of mine makes his living trading nothing but gaps. Each day his software scans the entire US and European stock market looking for gaps of a certain type. Then when this trader finds 2 or 3 good trading opportunities with reasonable downside risk he pulls the...

Sure, let's not forget tea leaves reading, tarot and astrology, just to name a few. Successful traders do NOT try to predict anything, they are just playing the odds, like a casino owner. Try to understand that simple concept first and then we will talk some more. Or not.

The only thing that matters is reading and interpreting the charts, the rest is just bar conversation. Well too bad, used correctly the Japanese candlesticks do have a huge predictive power, especially if you mix them with western technical analysis.

Sure you can backtest candlesticks with context, what are you talking about? For example a "hammer" works well at the end of a trend. But what's the end of a trend? Well simply put a simple moving average on the chart and if the price stays above that moving average AND the hammer for, let's...
