Why didn't my bond order fill?

This is not Lehman, Bear, Wells, or even Morgan Stanley--this is JPMC!

Why didn't my bond order fill?

Do you know how to do that in IB? In the bond scanner? I finally did get my fill!

Why didn't my bond order fill?

Yield was closer to 6%, expiry in a year, semi-annual coupon. Why buy a T-bond if I can get a highly rated corporate bond for an extra percentage point? Let's be honest, JPM is on par with or even slightly above the US Treasury. If JPM goes under the USA is probably already in flames anyway...

Why didn't my bond order fill?

I placed a 100k order for a corporate JPM bond at about 1pm and it didn't fill. I crossed the spread and took the offer, so it wasn't a pricing issue. The order just sat there for five hours. Why didn't it fill? Some possible reasons: 1. The spread was very tight. I hate big spreads, and so...

    iBond @ 9.62% - Demand overwhelms TreasuryDirect

I tried to pick up a few of these bonds today and was greeted by the following error messages. Also, the orange "Login" button seems to be disabled... it just links back to the home page. - 9.62%?? Dayaam... That's alike an essentially risk-free junk bond! - Afaik rates are dropping to about...

AAL et alia - Bankruptcy Risk

Those numbers aren’t terribly useful. Too detailed, and I’m not sure of the relationship between TSA checks and airline profit. How many of those people checked actually bought tickets? We really need financial numbers. Look at the balance sheets for AAL in 2019 vs 2022. SEC filings. I’ll look...

Trading Advice in a Restricted Environment (?)

What does the bond market look like for you? When a company’s stock plunges, sometimes they’ll look for ways to get ca$h quickly, and may issue a high-yield bond to offset the stock losses. You might be able to pick up a nice bond with a fat 12% (or higher) yield. You also get paid first if they...

AAL et alia - Bankruptcy Risk

Mmmm… I respectfully disagree. I think it’s on the brink of coming to a head. The “monkeyPox” headlines aren’t helping, and the election will play a big role, but generally air travel is in a deep hole, and bankruptcy is the easiest way out. It’s an interesting bet!!

AAL et alia - Bankruptcy Risk

    - Can you cite a source on demand being in “pre-pandemic levels? Last I checked they were nowhere close. Reading balance sheets is cumbersome now on my phone, but I will compare 2019 to 2022 when I get home. Total revenue. - 9/11 played a huge role in their bankruptcy. Some of those “fuel...

AAL et alia - Bankruptcy Risk

What probability would you speculate that AAL will declare Chapter 11 by 2025? I’m not saying Chapter 7-sell-everything bankruptcy, I mean take-shareholder-money bankruptcy, aka “restructure,” and come back solvent. I say probability (p) that one of the big airlines declares chapter 11 by 2025...

All the giant banks revenues down -50% to -60%

+1. Just a matter of time before the "Visible Hand" of the Fed moves in to prevent the banks from failing. In stark contrast to the "Invisible Hand" of price discovery in a free market discussed in The Wealth of Nations, the "Visible Hand" is the market and currency manipulation designed to...

NYSE:HMC (Honda) as an Inflation Play?

Inflation is just another force acting upon the markets; no different than politics, supply, competition, demand, news, innovation, etc. The train is coming, on inflation, US2024 election, etc. They are juggernaut forces. The question is always how to make 'em work for us; to capitalize... to...

NYSE:HMC (Honda) as an Inflation Play?

What do you think of Honda (NYSE:HMC) as an inflation play? You couldn't ask for a more solid company. Headquartered outside the U.S. A large part of its value is segregated from the USD Their EV, the Honda Prologue, is scheduled for release in 2024 I'd hesitate to buy a Tesla, but be far more...

⚠ Retailers call out Visa and Mastercard for fee hikes that could make inflation worse

Brethren: BEWARE SWIPE FEES!!! Be sure to ASK for the CC use fee!!! My dentist just added a 3% fee for Credit Card payments, saying that their merchant service provider raised it to 6%. Also, a friend went to a restaurant that charged ten percent (10%) on a credit card payment! Looks like...

    Shorting the market...

There's been talk that the Social Media channels work to make _all_ content creators "Internet Famous." The logic? People create content. If they start to get likes, subscribes, follows, etc. then they are encouraged to create more content. As a result, more people join their platform, because...
