    Bearish Indicators?

What tools, fundamental or technical, do you guys use to determine if a stock is in trouble and headed lower? What role do P/E ratios have in your decision making process? What about the position of the stock in its sector? I'm new to this whole thing but I'm wanting to find poorly performing...

    MSN StockScouter?

"You do not need to run a 50-stock portfolio with monthly rebalances to take advantage of the StockScouter system. If you fancy yourself an investor in large-cap stocks, use the StockScouter feature found in MSN Money’s Screener or on the Market Trends page to only find high-rated large-caps...

    MSN StockScouter?

Thanks, I'm definitely looking into it. I'm not really placing paper trades solely on the scouter rating, but also on how it is doing in its sector, what the technicals are saying, earnings history, insider buying/selling, good or bad news, etc. I'm just using the scouter rating as an additional...

    MSN StockScouter?

    Here is a list of the optionable stocks from that "poor rating" list I printed out: CHTR - 1 NAVR - 1 EK - 2 MALL - 2 but with very little or no open interest RRI - 2 ARRS - 3 ARXT - 3 but with very little or no open interest AXL - 3 BBA - 3 CSK - 3 DV - 3 FFH - 3 FLE - 3 MNC - 3...

    MSN StockScouter?

Thats another thing, I printed out a screen from their deluxe screener last night and it allowed me to find 200 stocks that were rated 3 or lower with technical and valuation grades as low as possible. I can't remember exactly where to find it but if you do a quick "power search" I think it will...

IBD stock valuation method (IBD's Stock Checkup)

I would also like an answer to this. Thread resurrected.

    MSN StockScouter?

I've been using MSN's StockScouter along with their guided research to do some paper trades. I've started paper trading puts on stocks that are rated a 3 or lower and have poor technical and valuation grades. I only started doing this on Monday so I'm curious if you guys have had any success...

    Finding Bad Stocks?

I went ahead and bought 10 contracts of the July $40 Put @ 1.20 earlier. I just can't see this stock heading north in the near term with all of this bad news. I don't use ReNu but if I did I'd probably stop just to be safe. If this is profitable for me I hope I can find some more stocks like it.

    Finding Bad Stocks?

Damn it, I should have bought a contract or 2 on BOL during trading yesterday. :( Oh well, I'm sure there are plenty more stocks in the crapper or going there. :)

    Finding Bad Stocks?

Also, what are your short term opinions on Bausch & Lomb (BOL)? I like their products but apparently there have been overseas scares about infections of some sort.

    Finding Bad Stocks?

Cool, SFNT is on your list. I'm thinking its got further downside potential but it really didn't today.

    Finding Bad Stocks?

I've decided I want to buy put options on stocks that are basically going down the toilet. At barchart.com I've found quite a few stocks that seem like they are headed for the floor because they are at 52 week lows, they have a slew of bad news, etc. but I'm wondering if there is a better place...

    Technical, Fundamental, or Both?

So trailing stops would be a beneficial tool then? That way I wouldn't have to watch my trades quite as much after they show a profit.

    Technical, Fundamental, or Both?

All of the replies combined, I'm still where I started, lol. J/K but it seems like you guys are either for or against one or the other also. I guess I've just got a butt load of reading and virtual trading to do, huh? I assume that I should read everything about being able to pick stocks that...

    Technical, Fundamental, or Both?

I've been doing some reading about technical and fundamental analysis and it seems like the people that do TA criticize FA and the people that do FA criticize TA. So my question to you guys is which do you use? Do you use a little of both? If so, which parts of each do you use? For example...

    Advisory Services?

Lol, its funny you should mention that because I just joined that site like 20 minutes ago. I am currently looking at a service called Options Hotline and this Steve Sarnoff guy claims absolutely insane gains, or my money back. I think it is $750 for one year of his newsletter so I am hesitant...

    Advisory Services?

I guess I need to learn more about this stuff then because I thought that I'd pretty much have to use an advisory service to avoid losing myself in the options market. My father and I tried using Wade Cook's seminars before he tanked out of business and we failed miserably. I know that a ton of...

    Advisory Services?

Here is a better explanation of what they do/advise, from my free trial of their service. I guess what I'm really wanting is advice from experienced options traders about the strategy this optioninvesting.com uses. Stock Options Stock Price Option...

    Advisory Services?

Sorry, its just that I don't know what to believe. I know that alot of money can be made trading stock options, I'm just looking for a way to do it. Is there a way I can check up on what they claim their past performance is to see if they are legit? I'm not sure if they double their money every...
