Your basic assumptions of alternative and differing asset classes are incorrect but, best of luck.

Trump Tax Reform - a total squeeze on middle class W2 workers

I agree that the incentives is part of the decision making process but not in a vacuum. as Sig States everyone has their own utility curve, but the opportunity cost decision has to be made...is there a better use for my capital (whether it is a boat or the public eq markets, etc). Or is my own...

    Basic Option Question?

I agree with your overall point. But, on your option example, if you had ATM options and your underlying is up 50% your option is up way more than 100%.

First AI ETF is out, would you buy at all?

Why do you keep comparing it to the SP500 ? It is a SECTOR ETF , designed to replicate returns of that sector only. If you want SP500 Return buy SPY or similar. Granted it is a "unique" sector. But you still buy a ETF based on its individual attributes/characteristics. So if you like the...

Trump Tax Reform - a total squeeze on middle class W2 workers

Yes, that's my point. A new tax structure dosen't require you to stop reinvesting capital. I believe most business owners started their business because they believe they can grow capital better than the next guy. Why now take it out to invest elsewhere ?

Trump Tax Reform - a total squeeze on middle class W2 workers

I did not say it was optimal and what else was expected from the current Republican administration ? Obviously you are right in that the benefits skew towards for the top. But as you know the premise for the break on the 1% ers is the theoretical growth stimulation from the reinvested tax...

    Fundamental value of Bitcoin

@Hoi..should I keep a sticky note on my lap top with my private-key ? Seriously, your response is the reason enough why it is not a valid currency, maybe a speculative vehicle, but even as such it is lacking. I can create a trade with as much upside potential while controlling my downside...

    Fundamental value of Bitcoin

@Hoi ...."if you don't hold your private-key, it's not your Bitcoin! Simple as that." Seems a little simplistic and fragile for a medium that is supposed to be a everlasting game changer.

Why would anyone invest in these funds?

This is a very good and concise explanation. But coming from the Private Wealth side (glorified retail) it is unbelievably hard to keep even the more sophisticated clients engaged with alternatives with the horrible nominal returns. I realize the environment has not been favoritable towards...

    Crypto Currency Observations...

To get paid 10MM in BTC dosen't some one have to be willing to pay you in BTC ? If governments want to regulated this out they can. In your example just put a HUGE payroll type tax on any non fiat payments...no 10MM BTC. Similar to what the U.S. did to tobacco. Also the Saudi Prince has a...

BWA for the most part is not a long/short fund. Maybe Ray Dalio needs your help with some freebies.
