    Is thee in deep depression?

NoMoreOptions, how are you going these days? :) As to your question - Is thee? That's a very well-timed question indeed. Well I sure am, or was at least till yesterday... :( Yesterday, DAX, had my first notable losing day in 3 months, and largest losing day in my career EVER! No matter...

High Pings & Latencies in Day Trading?

I have to fully concur on this, I was just about to write exactly the same thing. However, I can testify this first-hand, since I used to trade off a 28K connection for a good 2 years, so plenty of reference base. 1500K, 56K, 28K, 14K, it doesn't matter. Your orders should be maybe a few...

High Pings & Latencies in Day Trading?

Chisel, in layman's terms: Ping/Latency = The time it takes for the water to shoot out the other end of the hose (pressure) Bandwidth = The size (width) of the hose Both are important if you want to push water.

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

No worries nononsense, You could check VelocityFutures, they have relatively low rates and offer J-Trader free I think. And AdvancedFutures. Actually, I think there's several brokers offering on ET this. Velocity also offers X_Trader for $550 afaik, the same price FFastTrade offers their very...

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

Glad to hear you're using it successfully. Fwiw, I find the ButtonTrader plugin for TWS better than J-Trader, and better than X_Trader for that matter. I will have to switch to X_Trader soon, and really regret it, will probably keep an IB acct and Button open running on an extra monitor. That...

The Ultimate DAX Scalping Discussion Thread!

Hey nononsense, $750 / month for J-Trader? Man, no decent broker / clearer even asks that for X_Trader!!! J-Trader is an amateurish POS, and therefore should be (and usually is) free. Shop around. There's plenty of brokers offering J-Trader free.

    Today 02/11 11 am !?

Fully agree... News only accentuates. Plus, it's usually already reflected in the price somehow. Although I don't use indicators (anymore), I know what you mean - apart from that, the base prior to breakout was a clear long setup anyway. Myself, I went long ES @42, and exited at 43.50, for...

    Today 02/11 11 am !?

Thanks for the note, waggie, I'm feeling really embarrassed! I was expecting somebody to say something like this though. Geez, would be worth a Bloomy then after all. Had I held my long there, it would have paid for about 1/2 year of Bloomy subcription in a couple of mins. Cheers!

    Today 02/11 11 am !?

I don't know why anybody would have been short there (ES), it was a decent parabolic breakout-shape. Always a great way to die fading a base like that. That said, I was long ES, and closed out for a +1.5pt gain. I need not describe how upset I was (...am...) that I closed it, to watch it...

    Today 02/11 11 am !?

That's a good question we in the room all asked ourselves, too. Why the surge before Greeny had spoken a word? We were speculating guys in the pits had insider information before the public got it, or sth like that... It really wasn't normal. Anybody who's got a clue... Please comment!

    FastTrader Futures-Trading Journal

Fast!?! It really saddens me to see you leave the arena... You surely were great company, and surely many here will miss you, both in the journal and in the chat room... It's like all the good guys on ET are leaving... :( However, in the end it is of course your decision alone, and I agree in...

 Dammit, rub salt into the wound! I was long, and covered for a +1.5 pt profit... And it went for 10! Most stupid trade in about 3 months.

Fast, I admire your courage and diligence to have posted this log... I wouldn't have expected that! You're on the right way, Fast. Matter of fact, remember when I was your age, I wasn't as good as you. And I didn't have your confidence, either. When I was your age, I neither had the...

High Pings & Latencies in Day Trading?

Not as fast. You surely mean "as wide"? Speed and width isn't the same. Once 6200 people are using it at T1 capacity, it's 'slower' than a T1.

    FastTrader Futures-Trading Journal

Still can't believe this could happen. Well, stuff like this does NOT happen with IB. Outages, yes, problems like this, afaik NO. So ER2 = Electronic Russell 2000, that makes sense. What does "ES" stand for? Or "NQ"? Still have no idea. Anybody know? Not exactly the kind of thing to google...

    FastTrader Futures-Trading Journal

Sorry for the loss! The market giveth, and the market taketh away. Usually, if you let it, it taketh a lot more than it giveth. Imagine the market as shark-infested waters. Not only is this only too true in the futures-markets, but it is particularly the fact that if you just swim around...
