I think the worst one in Korean is the difference between good looking and tasty. They are very similar, and if you are trying to tell someone that his wife is good looking and accidently say tasty they get really mad. Tasty is used as a slang term with a sexual meaning in that context. OOps.....

Yeah, that is the tough thing about Japanese. I shouldn't lump the two together as far as reading and writing. The gramar is very similar to Korean, but Koreans only use about 500 Hanja (Kanji) with any frequency and you really don't ever have to use them if you don't want. I only knew about...

Sorry, I wasn't trying to sound like a phenom, and I certainly can sympathize with anyone in a situation where they can't speak well enough to get the point across. This might sound strange, but it only takes about 2 days to learn to read Korean. Japanese is a bit different because they use...

I'm also 6'1" and I had blonde hair. I was there in 98' (the year of "Titanic"). If I heard Dicaprio whispered as I walked by, one more time I thought I would scream. LOL

That is why I said "MOST" of the accent. Over the phone, once in a while I would talk to someone that knew I was a forienger. One time, I was having a hard day speaking and a lady on the phone thought I was a drunk Korean. That was humbling. I think the trick is to watch the news...

BTW, for an English speaker with any linguistical ability. Korean & Japanese take 7-8 months tops before you can fully function in society, watch TV, read the paper, etc. I'm learning Mandarin right now though, and I have to say that it is a bit harder because it isn't phonetic. I do think...

As far as learning the language, I think it all depends on what you are doing in the country, and whether or not learning the language is a necessity. Asian languages are a bit harder than latin based languages, but we Americans generally lean a little bit on the idea that many foreign...

Besides that, puts have been bid up in price, so for the same distance OTM you can get a much better credit on a bull put right now. Oops... another validation for using the Ansbacher Index inadvertently sneaked into my post.

I lived in Korea for about 2 1/2 years. I speak the language very fluently but I will never be able to fit in over there. They just don't think the same way I do.

I'm with coach. If we stay over 1295 on the pullback, I don't want to get run over by the bull stampede. It seems to me that everyone has really high hopes about keeping this growth going and yesterday's CPI showed the first signs of slowing inflation. That's why I'm starting to get a little...

I still work for the man. I like my "real" occupation but I was having eye problems this week. Just could see myself going into work at all. LOL:D [edit] Actually working with a couple partners on starting an IA right now too. Seriously though, I keep my "real" job because it allows my...

That's interesting, I've usually gotten better fills with SPY. In any case, I much prefer SPX for low commiss but I like to put in a OCO order and if I can get filled in XSP or SPY at a good enough price to make up for the commiss, then I take it.

Very similar to SPY with some slight differences that I think make it more attractive.

One thing you might consider is trading XSP instead of SPY. I don't think they are as heavily traded but they are European style so you don't have to worry about getting assigned.
