Risk, Do you prefer to "specialize' in a couple different setups, or do you just look for the best situations regardless of the strategy? Cache

Do you have any experience with 'Cashflow Heaven.com'?

I said it before on a different thread..... If you are paying more than $15-20 a month, then you are overpaying.

The "haves" and the have "N.O.T.S." (Novice Options Traders)

It's not that everyone trades options the same way, but there are situations that make certain strategies more favorable. I would look for these first, assuming that the advisory knows what they are talking about. As a simple example, if you were to open a long call position in an equity...

Yeah, I'm not done either. Why would I want to pay before I have to? :)

Yep... Probs not a good idea to make the election if you only trade a cash settled index.

The "haves" and the have "N.O.T.S." (Novice Options Traders)

I would start by considering what type of trades they are making, and under what circumstances seasoned traders would consider these trades. I.E. high/low IV, Support/Resistance, etc... I think that you will notice a trend starting to form. That is the problem with running an advisory. A...

'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;-- Thou art thyself, though not a CALCULON. What's CALCULON? It is nor hand, nor foot, Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part Belonging to a man. O, be some other name! What's in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet; So...

As far as I know, yes that is a mixed position. Although many people like to argue that ETFs should receive 1256 treatment, I am fairly posistive that the decision has been made against it. I think it mostly had to do with indices being M2M whether you make the election or not, whereas ETFs...

    thinkorswim question

IOW, much like any normal bank, you are somewhat protected in the event that the bank goes out of business/bankrupt. They just need to make sure that they tell you that market losses are not protected. When it comes down to it, your money is as safe with these, as it is with any bank of...

Riskarb's combo to fly conversion journal

Sure enough... 2:1 stock dividend subject to shareholder approval. Show me a shareholder that's going to disapprove that. Anxious to see the fireworks on Monday.:)

    Low risk 10%-15%/year option strategy

While making pan-fried noodles, I realized that I didn't have any good noodles one night when I'd finished the veggies and meat. Found a bunch of ramen in the pantry so I played around with those noodles a bit. I liked the result so much, I don't think I'll go back. You should try it out a...

    Low risk 10%-15%/year option strategy

I already told you that I'm good with my Mac n' Cheese with sliced hotdogs. But I'll tell you what, I've been getting creative with ramen noodles and stir fry lately. Whooo weee... I could start a restaurant with this stuff.:D

    Low risk 10%-15%/year option strategy

In plain english... If you have a low risk tolerance, meaning the same risk tolerance as those whom invest in the treasuries market, options aren't for you. On the other hand, if you have a moderate risk tolerance, then there are strategies that present the possibility of higher gains. All...

I wouldn't be concerned about this at all. ToS handles its finances through Penson Financial Services, just in case you want to check into them a bit. They've been around for about 11 years, and specialize in active trading brokers/dealers, so it is a good fit for ToS. My expeirence with...

The "haves" and the have "N.O.T.S." (Novice Options Traders)

Just wanted to toss in a caution to newbie traders. Beward of the pattern day trader rule. I believe ES has a daytrading account, so these jump in and jump out trades are ok. If you do not have a day trading account, you might be forced to remain in these trades for a bit longer.:)

Gasoline heading to $3 and more

That's pretty cool! A few companies around the world (mostly Australia and Arizona, U.S.) are working on nano-tech advanced solar panels. One is using them to split the hydrogen out of water. Another is focusing more on artificial photosynthesis. Nano tech has increased the efficiency of...

Gasoline heading to $3 and more

How much amperage does it draw when you plug it in? And on the other hand, if the battery is that good, why not pair it with solar panels? Wouldn't that be much better than amping up your utility bill? And then, if you're going to use solar... Why not make it solar/hydrogen hybrid so that...

Gasoline heading to $3 and more

20 miles isn't even close to far enough, and I don't think I buy into the low maintenance thing. As soon as fuel cells start malfunctioning there will be some pissed off people. Plug in cars were such a big hit that they were around for a whole year. Show me a car that I have to plug in...
