    Floor of NYMEX?

I'm trying to get a buddy a job as a clerk on the floor of the NYMEX. I don't have many/any connections down there. I'm just trying to help him with an entry-level spot. Anyone have any ideas? I sincerely appreciate it. Send me a PM. Thanks. Neal.

what do you guys make of EUR/USD?

I hate to be the odd-ball out. However, I am a strong buyer of EUR here expecting significantly higher EUR prices in the coming few weeks. I may load up on some knock-in options as well to supercharge this trade. I may have been the one writing checks to Ivan, however, I really in it for the...

Is the market cap on that stock $30,000 or am I reading it wrong. Outstanding shares 125,000 stock trading at 25c? Strange company. I have a car worth more.

    The Chicken or the Egg?

I've never found a real relationship between interest rates and currency rates/movement. Dollar has uptrended/downtrended during both periods of increasing interest rate differentials and vice versa. Of course, interest rate differentials are arbed out in the forward markets which would...

    The Chicken or the Egg?

The players are just a component of the market at large being a living breathing mass subject to the laws of physics and nature. A similar analogy might be to examine each cell of the body as a market participant with the whole body moving in accordance with the laws of nature and physics even...

    The Chicken or the Egg?

Ivan, your observation and comment is only the tip of the iceberg. Clearly, on a daily basis, the news is interpreted to fit the market action and not vice versa. However, it is my contention that even in the big picture, the so-called "economic fundamentals" are shaped by market movements and...

John Henry--The Next Blow Up ??

Thank you for your ever cordial, civil and constructive approach to conversation. What do you attribute the success of VN in recent years? How has he changed or learned from his experiences that will allow him to avoid some of the problems of the past? Do you feel that the hedge funds have gone...

    Math question...

Thank you for your helpful insight everyone. I know the strategies very well, however, my feeling is that too much emphasis is currently being placed on "low volatility strategies". The Fund managers have become whimy trying to compete against benchmarks and produce low volatility returns. I...

    Math question...

I would like to create an investment portfolio with a low volatility output comprised of high volatility inputs. Read: a Fund of Funds product comprised of funds which individually have a high volatility return stream, however, I want the monthly performance of the FoF portfolio to be a low...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I think today's low should hold on a short-term basis if you want something even tighter.

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Thanks for the kind words. I agree about the thread. If you are a long-term player, I think 1.18 is a good place now. Shorter-term, I wouldn't think that we should see much below 1.200 again if this is a real bull EUR. I have nothing more important to hold onto as a stop.

    Ok Ok what edge

The U2 guitarist might actually have an edge because of the people he meets and the access he is granted. I'd sooner bet on that than some of the so-called edges described in this thread. :)

    A shoulder to cry on

I was generally referring more to equities and a day when materially "all" the players were long-only. As such, any hiccup to the downside would cause liquidation which would trip other liquidation and so on and so on. Now, there is more natural bid interest on down moves due to an increased...

    A shoulder to cry on

Adopt the George Costanza method of trading. Whatever you think you should do, just do the opposite.
