how do you know the size is still legit

Remember that open book is delayed by up to 5 sec. It's also strictly the limits placed through SDOT or with the specialist. What happens on the floor is rarely reflected in the book. The most telling indicator in these instances is not the quote or the book but the PRINT. HOW MUCH prints...

OpenView depth of book for listed stocks

Wait I'm wrong, it doesn't show cancel & replace. My main issue is wondering if the liquidity from the Nasdaq Market Center really is significant enough in listed stocks to follow.

OpenView depth of book for listed stocks

I'd like to solicit some info from traders out there who have used OpenView. The idea that you can see nasdaq liquidity -- and cancel & replace orders -- on listed stocks seems interesting. Is this a good product for you guys, or is does it not really add much value to your current trading style?

I'd love to see a pic of that.

    21 and clueless

For basic info into the tools and data for trading, try reading the technical analysis section of stockcharts.com and http://hardrightedge.com/tw.htm For the nuts and bolts of trading, like software, exchanges, order entry, games that locals/specialists/MMs play, tape reading etc. .. it...

scalpers, what hotkeys do u use???

I don't think I'd ever use that. WAY too few keys. I WOULD like to try a flat tablet instead of a mouse however. Roommate in college was an artist and used one of those with great skill. Even better if the desktop display was right on the tablet.

scalpers, what hotkeys do u use???

Oddly enough, swipes (double my intended initiating size) are great for me as a confirming indicator. When I do not get filled nearly enough, I know something's going on on a larger time frame that I might need to focus on. When I get filled fully and instantly, I know I have been gamed and to...

Oh, good to know actually. Thought you had a different methodology for catching patterns.

    PL and more trades

almost 7 min. ;) I can see how it might relate to a necessary skill needed, but it's kinda limited in this case as there is really one variable you have to follow to notice the pattern. Maybe a timed gem game with about 5 different starting sets of gems might be a closer approximation. I...

Why Do People Trade when the Failure Rate is So High?

Heh, no I truly do apologize. I've a bad habit of insulting people who appear to see connections that aren't there. I've worked with a few people in my past office who had bonehead conspiracy theories that were, in the end, just projections of their own repressed observations about XYZ social...

Why Do People Trade when the Failure Rate is So High?

You just agree with RM and mention some irrational anecdote about the Swiss. But nevermind, I somehow doubt you have much of an intellectual ability to form a coherent argument in the first place.

Why Do People Trade when the Failure Rate is So High?

Oh Cesko, thank you. Mises is the Herbert Marcuse of the right. Since you seem so recalcitrant, I'll pass my questions onto you. Reanimate your Mises arguments; let's see if you have recourse to data rather than rhetoric. We were discussing women voting and inflation. Did allowing women...

Why Do People Trade when the Failure Rate is So High?

Well, now I know you're the genius with the fascinating theories. You should have chimed in earlier and saved the kid some grief. Take some responsibility for your ignorance man, don't pass it onto sycophants.

I thought I saw you start a thread a few days ago claiming there was an upward sloping wedge in the S&Ps.

Why Do People Trade when the Failure Rate is So High?

<i>Quote: I had exactly the same reaction regarding Stockgirl's comment. It's absolutely true Universal Suffrage Movement fucked up lots of things(there is a good article on the subject on www.mises.org)</i> I am not going to waste much time on this, though it's worth a moment to make a point...

Why Do People Trade when the Failure Rate is So High?

I was a bit harsh in my sarcasm, forgive me. ;) I just find it rather pointless to debate if women leaving the home are causes of inflation with someone who claims universal suffraged "fucked up" a lot of things. It seems you have your cart is before the horse, ethically speaking. My...

Why Do People Trade when the Failure Rate is So High?

Oh I agree, but I don't have the data. Since you have already done your research, where did you find your charts of women entering and leaving the workforce, so that I might check them out also? I'm sure you don't hate women, nor does Rearden Metal. Misogyny is not colloquially so...
