    The Edge defined

“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for lifetime” I believe genuine help can be offered without someone giving away their golden goose. Perhaps they can tell us what the golden goose looks like so we can catch our own if we ever come across...

    The Edge defined

<div align="justify"><span style=";font-family:trebuchet ms;font-size:85%;" >Edge: This is one of the most basic concepts in trading, yet it seems like most starting out pay very little attention to this, so i will make an attempt to define it. When it comes to trading, an edge is defined as...

    Expectancy above .50??

Here is another example. Now as discussed before, the previously shown results of strategies do not present what one would call tradable results. Here is another strategy that, based on the numbers, I would consider very tradable. The only downside is the number of trades in comparison to the...

    Tradestation to InterbankFX?

Thanks for the response, the problem with this setup is that i have for example 2 different strategies which trade the same pair, and at any given time they might be hedging each other. The systems are written to trade individually, and their performance reflects trades that are unaltered by...

    Expectancy above .50??

Hi, I’ve been working on developing mechanical strategies for about a year and a half now and it appears that expectancy numbers that are greater than .50 or Sharpe ratios that are greater than 1 are almost impossible to come by after including slippage and commissions to the trades. What are...

    Tradestation to InterbankFX?

Hi, I have 4 strategies that I’ve written using EL in Tradestation 8.1 for trading a couple of currency crosses. The problem is that I need to get the orders generated from Tradestation 8.1 routed to my FX broker automatically. Now I know that this can be done with TS and other Gain Capital...
