We won't have to move to Mexico. Mexico continues to move to us. But what of retirement account "nationalization" in Argentina (I thinks that's Portugooeys for "confiscation")? If I do off myself I will make the national headlines by taking a few people with me to be my servants in the afterlife.

How to buy gold and silver coins

There is much to be said for patronizing a local coin dealer. For example, where you gonna go if you need to sell some fast at a decent price?

My dear Anna, do take your time. Being only a size 10 (shoe and dress), I am humbled. But at least I AM a triple-E. I can help with investing questions, since I am one of those evil corrupt misguided 401K fund market timers. And I also buy stocks of companies whose projected life expectancies...

Not thinking of moving from BA are we? Re your conservative economics diatribe, I am nearly 64, and I had hoped to escape through a timely death the next Great Depression, not to say the next Weimar Republic. I may have to kill myself to meet that timeline. I have hunkered down into cash, gold...

Hey! Wanna join me in writing one called "Trading Wisdom from EliteTrader?"

Great reference, Clacy. More sellers of used than new tells you something.

BTW, Lucky, judging from that family picture you sent me, keep your husband far far away from your portfolio. His ring finger is shorter than his index finger. Only gentlemanly discretion prevents me from inquiring as to his shoe size. (Again as an aside, while Lucky trades and gathers her...

F9, that is why I strive for novelty at all times, often veering into improv. Like Don Rickles does so well, you cannot go wrong belittling your audience.

The market just put in its daily low. Thank you for your candid response. It made good sense to me. So I will not attempt to convert you to futures. I am confused about one thing, though. You cite holds from minutes to weeks, scalping to swinging, and in PMs you mentioned investing as well...

Delusion is indeed a big business. Entire societies and economies are based on it, not to mention subcultures. As you know me to some extent from PMs, let me assure you that this thread is not a hoax, at least on my end. So I encourage ET to follow Coleridge's advice on the limitation of media...

Lucky, pay attention to Furchtlos-Neun (or Sans-Peur-Neuf, si vous prefererez). He is sharp enough to make a living trading. But he trades weird. I wouldn't do what he does, even to make money. (As an aside to F9, not only can't they pronounce it, they can't even SPELL it!)

Lucky, IMO trends begin and end when they begin and end. You do not doubt or second guess them. I provisionally called a wide-range day because five of my six indicators for that fired off. I should have been wary that the sixth didn't. But, hey, it was good for a BO trade.

Thanks for explaining your personal context. Now in good analytical fashion, let us turn to the past to discover why you do what you do now. How did you come by an interest in direct stock trading, as opposed to options or futures or real estate or closed end funds or physicals/collectables? It...

Lucky and I are having a private side conversation apropos of mentoring, to which the attached photo is relevant. Nice little NQ scalp just now, but now not clear it really is a wide-range day.

Hahahahahaha! Gardyloo! Wide range day! So are you a bit reclusive? Or attracted to the apparent ease of making money trading?

While we await comments, Lucky, it might be useful to explain why you want to trade at all, and what outcomes you desire. If the market doesn't break out soon we may have all day to post.

I daytrade far less than 1% of my net worth, currently have only about 5% invested in securities, but still believe in stock for the long haul and am easing back into the market now after cashing out totally over two years ago. My answer on stocks vs. futures for daytrading is resoundingly INDEX...

    Duref Mentors Lucky

Well, Lucky, it is a good thing we chose this forum for the thread, because your first questions on futures versus stocks are as trenchantly psychological as the issue of stright versus gay. Sad to say, there was little logic in my migration from stocks to NQ as a daytrading vehicle. I bottom...

Thanks for your excellent suggestion, Ron. Earnest participants, please put trolls on ignore, and if things get out of hand I will ask moderation to intervene. However, many times ET has been successful in keeping threads on track (Emil Kraepelin's interviews with controversial ET figures some...

LuckyGirl and I recently began a conversation on trading via PM. I quickly became concerned that my own experiences might not have the breadth and depth to provide the best possible answers to her trading questions. So I suggested that we take our dialogue public. The rubric is that she will...
