We have plenty of remote traders that make a very nice living, obviously it works for them. I always recommend our remotes to have backup systems and backup internet connections. If you are remote, you should equip your home office properly, have the proper connections, and have a backup.

I would think if you use the TICK to determine program trading, the information is too late. The programs already kicked in and I would think you want to get there BEFORE they kick in.

Hmmm... used the PREM side of it, but never really thought about the TICK coming into play. I'll watch for that also! If the tick doesn't change significantly, is that an indication that they might not be coming in with the programs?

As I understand it, it's a very common thing. But the numbers will be different for each firm depending on: Their basket of stocks Any derivatives they factor in Their cash on hand Their interest rate they are getting on their cash on hand Their cost of carrying etc. etc. etc.

If you can't find a firm, you can always trade remote. I know a number of firms offer that including us. (obviously I'm biased :D )
