"And, turn off the stupid bar charts, LOL. Meaningless crap to take your attention off reality. Seriously." What an interesting idea and approach. SCARY!

Perfect ! Oh Great Teacher, master of all things in options!:) Think I have it and will give it a whirl. Thinking I understand it enough to do it with real money. As I understand theta, having traded credit spreads for six months, until wiped out by Black Swan events. ( paper trading )...

    My option trades

You lost me there. Just buying back and selling the first front month, sold options. Leaving the third month alone. Which are long calls. Not running to expiration, but trying to catch the fluctuations on the first month.

    My option trades

Okaaay! Let me see if I understand this? I have a calendar spread. First month sold, third month bought. Price moves down, I buy back, the sold front month options. To keep the delta numbers even. Price moves up, I start selling the front month options. To keep the delta numbers...

Okay! Let me look up GAMMA again. I must have learned it 30 times but never remember.

    My option trades

The divorce story was really good for a chuckle. I´m smiling still while typing. Been there done that! I kind of figured the delta adjustments would be selling shorts. I had a vision in my mind, trying to picture it working as a teeter totter. I´m not sure how I would work this...

Calendar Spread Don Found a good site on that, read about three though. Your mention of delta adjusting is a bit puzzling. Are you meaning you buy more, or sell more to keep the numbers of contracts each side the same delta? Didn´t see that mentioned in the articles I just read.

Thankyou Jeff I got out of my gamble with FL, with just the loss of commissions. Boy was I agonizing over that. Never again. Rolling dice is not my game at all. Pyschologically unfit for it. Thanks for the listings of indexes. Got them written down. Haven´t got totally turned off...

Thankyou for the courtesy Mr. Don Bright. Much appreciated. Will look up calendar spreads. Short the ATM, but what do you mean FAR OUT ? In the meantime about 10 minutes to find if that stupid gamble I made yesterday on FL is going to lose me a bunch, or win? Ay yi, yi! Should...

trader 198 Thanks again, I´m chewing on it. Another question, what are the commissions like on a $1000 in OTM 5 cent options? What does it cost you to pay for those commissions?

    My option trades

Thankyou for those tidbits. You have given me something to chew on. I guess we are trading the same thing? I´m swing trading within the weekly bar. I cannot day trade anymore, as the Exchanges will not allow it, due to the daytraders rule. Though I have a system that was working great...

    My option trades

Very good opinions by trader 198 and Don Bright. Each has points. Due to being an amateur and small retail trader, I find buying better, because of the margin requirements. Still, I am trying to work within a 5 trading day trade frame. My reasoning being, equity buildup depends on both...

    My option trades

Jeff I´m coming to the same conclusion already as an amateur. Though I´m still playing with playing trends pre-earnings and post earnings. Thing is one article I read suggested that I should never waste my time on a stock that swung less than $1.50 to $1 a day. Been wondering where...

    My option trades

Alright! I bit the bullet. Gamble small as it is. Fl was the one with the closest bid / ask spread. Which I presume agrees with Atticus idea of volatility control. I went just for one contract at $1.20. It also had the smoothest climbing accumulation of buying. CASH MONEY, see what...

    My option trades

Looked at Fl and Big By rights both should jump on earnings. But I don´t have anything to hang a judgement on. I see BIG has the better bid ask spread. If that tells me anything? I more or less am going by an article I read, where somebody said, you buy the slope direction, as most...

    My option trades

Babu Not really a strangle. Got rid of the PUT which was a counter trend trade that did not work out. Was one contract. Not sure what they are charging me for this, because the loss with commissions was $38. I bought the one contract at $2.59 and sold at $2.37 This should be a loss of...

    My option trades

Well my morning is jiggling with trying to bracket the day´s action in the QQQ. Holding 1 May QQQ 65 PUT at $2.59. Not going anywhere right now. Have a sell order in anyway, but long way from that. Will hold for the time being. Have an order waiting in queue to buy some 64 Calls at...
