Be careful with yahoo data. I've been using float for a filter in a certain area of my trading and I noticed that yahoo's float is unreliable. msn seems to have better float data. Of course I'm not sure if this extends to other data as well, but I'm just giving y'all a heads-up.

At Oanda you can size the positions to anything, so there isn't any of this lots, mini-lots, micro-lots, etc nonsense. Getting the positions so that they're exactly the same pip weight is very easy at Oanda. BTW, I have done some experimenting with EURUSD/USDCHF spreading techniques. But...

When it hits 32, sell 1/2 and move the stop to BE.

If you have IB, use the market scanner screen. You can find all sorts of good high volatility opportunities every morning this way.

Hey Jakey, how'd you choose BUCY? I did a quick check on my screener page on IB for "Top % Gainers" and it was on that list. I don't normally use that scanner because it can be a bit of a "grab bag".

They do have nice price improvement, but their volumes are anemic at best. At this point of the day they should at least be at about 55-58% of average daily volume. They're both at around 32% at this moment...

Volume isn't where it needs to be but I've seen afternoon turn-arounds before. I allocate 20% of my capital to each position with a 2% initial stop on each position. If my stop's hit, "aint' no thang" I'm going to leave it lie until EOD

I use the volume alerts, but I changed the default setting for "trigger if crossed" to OFF. I had some reliability problems as well and this seemed to fix it.
