No, we're all arguing about real estate in another thread.

Would you buy a house, anywhere in the US, right now?

LOL On business trips to Phoenix one of the main topics of discussion was the influx of Californians. The locals referred to it as "The Peoples Republic of California" When they offered me a transfer to Phoenix I about laughed in their faces.

Would you buy a house, anywhere in the US, right now?

In 50 years the mid-west will go though what Ireland has been going through recently. Everyone left because it was poor and desolate. Now they have money and miss the home place so they rush back and drive prices up. The herd will slosh back and forth as long as there are people, money, and...

Would you buy a house, anywhere in the US, right now?

Pah. The beaches are uninhabitable during the warm months. Smog, traffic gridlock, trashy people, smirking teenagers. What we need here is a neutron bomb detonation while my family and I are away on a trip.

Would you buy a house, anywhere in the US, right now?

I've been talking up moving to the mid-west with my wife. We're on the right coast right now $$$. Demographically young people are flocking from the mid-west to the coasts. The best real estate deals are in the mid-west. The only problem is how would a coaster feel about moving to the...

    Learning programming/modeling

But, of course. As you no doubt know, engineers are actually smarter than everyone else. (I do hope you noted the tone of self-deprecating humor there.)

    Learning programming/modeling

Not to burst y'alls bubbles, but it's easier for an experienced engineer/programmer to learn to trade profitably than it is for a trader to learn programming.

How to gain confidence letting profit ride?

When you're in profit, sell 1/2 of the position and move the stop to breakeven. You have 2 demons perched on your shoulders, one named Fear and the other named Greed. They must be bribed daily to keep them from distracting you and losing money.

Using Fair Value PREMs to trade the ES

Hmmm. I've never seen the ES contract trade less than the SPX. There's always a premium, never a discount. Am I missing something?

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Journal II

Sort of the opposite of catching a falling knife, eh? More like one thrown at the ceiling.

I actually like the way COGO looks on the daily. As long as the price stays above the right trendline, it should be good for entry tomorrow if it bounces.

My First Trade! - STP - Advice?

Good boy! You did what I said! As you can see, it's not rocket science, just managing your exits correctly.

    Simple Profitable Method

Dude, where ya located? Sounds like the far east. I've been toying with the idea of moving from the east coast US to Europe somewhere. A European location would give me reasonable access to both US and Euro markets, time-wise.

My First Trade! - STP - Advice?

Hehe. I just looked at the chart for the stock of the original poster (STP): <img src=http://ichart.finance.yahoo.com/z?s=STP&t=3m&q=c&l=on&z=m&a=v&p=s> It basically went south 2 days after entry. In retrospect, that "breakout" had no volume behind it, so the continuation of the...

    Death-anol?

For what it's worth, Cramer panned ethanol Friday night. As I recall, he hit the button on his control panel that says, "Sell! Sell! Sell!"

I think you may have meant "catenary" rather than "cantilever", but I know what you mean. I'm such a smarty-pants it gets me in trouble all the time.

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Journal II

Hey spydertrader and anyone else, I have a question about that "unusual volume" spreadsheet that was posted here a while back. I noticed the "smile" shape of the volume bars for a typical day and I've also noticed this same smile in other intraday charts for specific stocks. I realize that...
