I'm assuming you are talking NASDAQ stocks. If your order is marketable it will basically be executed just like a 100 sh order. If it is not marketable, it will be invisible on the national quote.

You can use one of your PCs as a router/firewall. It even does NAT or it can be a fully transparent proxy. You need Linux for the more fancy stuff of course. Or if you don't want to reboot every day.
