Trading a family member's personal account, question

I still think the legal way POA is the way to go. You could trade your spouse or adult child's account without POA, not caught. But it is not legal. To broker, that is unauthorized trading since you trade someone's account without authorization with the broker.

Trading a family member's personal account, question

The only thing you'll have to get careful is if both accounts trade the same instrument at the same time. Try to avoid the impression of collusion of trading from two or more accounts.

Trading a family member's personal account, question

A lot of BS here. A lot of brokers offer the form to designate another person (even stranger) to be your trader and have full trading right. There is nothing against the law as long as the paperwork is done. On the form, there is a section of the liability from the broker. The broker is not...

Markets face a toxic future as inflation fears grow

I believe some are buying up US real estate properties. The housing boom has something to do with that too. But that has somehow slowed due to covid and various government restrictions.

Markets face a toxic future as inflation fears grow

Folks have been talking about strong demand and low US treasury bond yield. It has really nothing to do with the bets on US interest rate. It is more of a result of the strong demand from Asia. China has a huge trade surplus vs USA. It needs to park the USD. US treasury is about the only...

Markets face a toxic future as inflation fears grow

It is just funny to hear Janet Yellen and other fed officials stating that high inflation and high interest rates are "good" for US economy.... Bring in Larry Summers. He was a good friend of Bidden.

Looking for Energy ETFs to Rebound

Those energy ETFs have no stop. Biden's energy policies have failed so miserably. And Fed is clueless about the inflation. They will wait until CL goes to $85 to act, if ever. Or they say CL will drop dead to $50 again after the "transitory"..... blah blah.... Take the smooth ride. Enjoy!

    What Futures Broker to Use?

Execution quality only matters if you do large volume in a very liquid fast moving market. This was not a top consideration even at my old work place for customer hedges. We used voice brokers and online chats. With stock trading at $0 commission, maybe some day futures commissions will be...

    What Futures Broker to Use?

Actually mainly looking for secondary futures broker. Used to have the regular IB full account, but has changed to the Lite account. More ETF based now. So do not really need sophisticated platform and speed etc. Yes, the first thing traditional futures broker asked was the trading the...

    What Futures Broker to Use?

I currently use IB for futures. But I do not like its still expensive future commissions. For the last corn futures, I paid like $2.40 one side. I'm fine with its high margin. Do not trade futures very frequently. Maybe fewer than 10 contracts a week. No micro contracts. Mainly energy...

    IB Security/Commodity Margin Balance

Say I get $20,000 cash (margin) in IB commodity account and a $10,000 negative balance (margin borrowing) in IB security account. Does IB calculates margin interest with the $10,000 margin? Or there is no margin interest since the total combined cash amount is positive?

Crude oil seems not good at the moment

It is CL expiration. All is expected. Then you have a higher bond price and lower yield. So folks think Fed won't increase interest rate. All outside forces.

Cathie Woods, Ark etf now called Bark etf- its a dog

It is just useless to make a comment of the market with some hindsight. What Ms. Wood and what we can do are different things. She has to put $$ where her mouth is. Her ETFs are more like mutual funds. She does actively trade like most "traders" do. Sure a lot of traders did better than she...

Are Record-Setting Commodity Prices a Result of Demand or Futures Manipulation?

What is your proof that covid pandemic is fake? What happened to all the deaths in India? All fake deaths?

    IB's Higher Futures Commissions

IB does offer both Lite and Pro versions of services and different pricing. But its Lite pricing on futures commissions is so high. I guess Lite is most useful for ETF and stock trading. Wonder how much IB has been losing business with its high margin and high commissions.

Haha, fake pandemic? Go to India, get covid and test to see if it is fake.

Are Record-Setting Commodity Prices a Result of Demand or Futures Manipulation?

This is just BS. We all know that most commodity futures trading is pure speculative trading. CL can turn negative. NG can go to $2. They can go high too. CL could go to $100 when there was plenty oil in storage. It is free market. Same thing with Bitcoin going at $60,000. Some...
