    Stress and Trading

I agree, that stress is one of the worst internal enemies of a trader. Recipe to avoid it, is convince yourself that individual trades don't matter and as a result, don't care about outcome, only about long term results of your trading business. It's not easy task to achieve at first, but...

    Day trading difficulties

It looks to me, that OP's problem is more methodology related, than psychological. System is not clear enough to be just followed and yield money over time, hence the stress.... It often seems that problem is your emotions, but sometimes, emotions are just trying to tell you something, like...

With the ES around, why trade forex?

Better volatility, more technical market, less bots = less noise. And liquidity is way enough for 99.99% of ET members. :D

    Wyckoff Springs and Upthrusts

AFAIK, those are simply false breakouts with some volume confirmation. Nothing new under the Moon. :D

Maximum sensible bet size for great setups

2% risk, it never can be higher for me. Only lower for worse quality setups.

Am I doing something wrong? Making money can't be this easy...

Yeah, thats why I asked about the number of trades and their characteristics. If many trades occured and in both directions, it increases chance result is not random.

Am I doing something wrong? Making money can't be this easy...

Fills are not different in demo/live ES unless you are "earning" the spread on some poorly designed demo platform. How many trades did you do so far on demo? Enough to consider your method statistically proven?

Why do 95% of retail traders lose?

Whatever makes the most money. :D But if seriously, people tend to look for outside reasons for their failures in many fields, when in reality cause of the failure is often inside, their own lack of practice, lack of discipline, lack of focus et cetera...

Why do 95% of retail traders lose?

Another life example (and a hint to what is most difficult about trading :p ): How many obese people try to lose some weight? Apparently most. How many of those people solve their obesity problem? Right, only a few %. Is it because advices to stop eating crap, generally eat less and do...

Why do 95% of retail traders lose?

How many people become good professional sportsmen or artists, so that they live solely by that activity? It always amazes me why people think trading should be any easier to succeed at...

Why do 95% of retail traders lose?

Yeah, trolling for the purpose of someone "prooving" she/he can trade by teaching the troll is old story... Unfortunately, not many buy it nowadays...

Why do 95% of retail traders lose?

What are you doing here then? Act as a knight in white armor, salvage newbies from being eaten by evil brokers? :D

Why do 95% of retail traders lose?

This is going to be a lot of fun thread, since the talk started about "if TA works" and "if short term retail ES trading possible". :D

Why do 95% of retail traders lose?

Yup, less than 1% success rate among retail wannabe traders sounds much more realistic for derivatives etc. In longer term stock plays (mostly buy & hold) I think, that % can be higher, but that is more investing than speculation.

Why do 95% of retail traders lose?

Assuming that most people coming to trading business treat it as gambling or a way to get rich quick, I am amazed that only 90% lose... It seems to me that % of winners should be way smaller than 10%.
