    25 bps cut...

Can I get a big, "BOOYA!"

    25 bps cut...

Agree. Though, I don't think they're going to get full 50. Fed should give zero. But, we all know that would cause market implosion. Couldn't disappoint the big boys, since they are letting out 3billion dollar writeoffs daily now, in order to get the dirty laundry out by EOY. No, have to...

    25 bps cut...

25bps so as not to disappoint wall street (although it's kind of ridiculous at this point). Initial selloff on disappointment (actually short term overbought sentiment). Possible initial burst fakout, then selloff into close. Either way, I expect some selloff action. My 2c.

    Calculation of the vix

There is a method to emulate the calculation of the VIX. It's very closely correlated, and i think it is in the latest TA of stocks and commodities mag or active trader, can't recall which.

    TA end of year poll

Not looking so impossible after all, eh? Don't underestimate the strings that can be pulled for wall street bonus time. As you can see, they are pretty big strings.

Hillary wants 5 yr Int. Rate FREEZE!

Help me out here... The OP headline says, "Hillary wants 5 yr Int. Rate FREEZE," obviously targeting dems for ridicule. But, the news headlines say, --------------------------------------------------- Five-Year Mortgage Rate Freeze Looms Wednesday December 5, 3:40 pm ET By Martin...

Random Walk Theory Proved, once and for all.

Thanks for being civil. I too am against slanderous debates. Sounded a bit contentious on both sides, and I appreciate your viewpoints. No offense meant. I respect your viewpoints, and hopefully others can benefit from views on both sides. My main argument to you was to show that bulls and...

Random Walk Theory Proved, once and for all.

Likewise. Your chart proves absolutely nothing. And notice how a telling description of the past has absolutely no guaranteed bearing of the future. I can go backward at every inflection and say, see how the bulls bought, see how the bears sold, which will be an obvious explanation for...

Random Walk Theory Proved, once and for all.

The problem with this argument is that you are cherry picking one chart window from a universe of millions and constructing your version of what happened behind the scenes. It is a simple matter for me to cherry pick a few charts of my own, with clearly defined support and resistance levels in...

Paul Tudor Jones. Sigh, time to hit the sack.

Random Walk Theory Proved, once and for all.

I have no argument there. And I strongly agree with it. My original intent in joining this thread is simply to let others who are learning, save a lot of time by trying to unmold themselves from "believing" chart patterns will always repeat and unfold if they just memorize them and learn them...

Random Walk Theory Proved, once and for all.

Yes, I've seen it. Thanks for backing up the statement. When you can 100% distinguish between 50 real and 50 random charts of my choice, I'll be happy to sign up to your cult. I won't hold my breath waiting. Looks like there is a lot of contention on the board, which is great...

Automated Trading Seen Dominating Futures Markets by 2010

If there's one conclusion I've come to, it's that you can have all the fancy high speed cpus, sophisticated AI, genius level TA alrgorithms, and none of them mean squat compared to client and institutional order flow. I'll take a monkey's analysis + order flow over all of that sophisticated...

The stupid and irresponsible "home owners" bail out is happaning

Don't be fooled by the altruistic gestures. If there were no "BIG" idiots in trouble, the little idots would not have been rescued.

screw the futures, S&P will finish LOWER friday

Here's my WAG. I got it from shaking my crystal chart ball. Do i get points for having the correct colored candlestick on close?

Random Walk Theory Proved, once and for all.

Nice point. Here is an overlay of posters chart on AMKR. A VERY simple binary coin toss (outcome +1, -1) was compounded to create the compared chart. No magic. No cheating. Only 1) I cherry picked a simulation output window that looked similar to the cherry picked stock graph window the...
