Can anyone recommend a good economic calendar website for Europe and Japan?

How about a calendar website where I can go far back? Say on a certain day a few month ago, there was a big movement on the DAX and I would like to find out what happened that day. Thanks again.

    Forex scalping

Why use futures instead of spot? CME electronic euro (6E) has the same 3 to 5 pips bid/ask spreads too. Is it because with futures you have a chance to buy at the bid price and sell at the ask price? Even so, spot give you a little more margin, say you make on average 10 pips less than trading...

What could go wrong with Treasury scalping? Or other types of scalping?

Dear FuturesTrader71, In that case I apologize. IB margin for ZB is a little higher than exchange requirements, $776 intraday initial; $575 intraday maintenance; $1553 overnight initial; and $1150 overnight maintenance. Margin requirements checked every 15 minutes.

What could go wrong with Treasury scalping? Or other types of scalping?

No. This is no joke. I don't waste people's time like that. But I don't answer questions as basic as "margin". Go to CBOT and IB websites. As far as entries and exits and stops are concerned, I have already answered all of them in my messages. Definitely someone who doesn't know a thing...

What could go wrong with Treasury scalping? Or other types of scalping?

Dear Pabst, Thanks for your reply. Please feel free to PM me. But if you would like to email, the email functionality would not work because the email address I have on file is no longer valid and I don't have any other email address than a yahoo one (which ET does not allow). My yahoo...

What could go wrong with Treasury scalping? Or other types of scalping?

Not good, I thought with worse than expected consumer confidence and worse than expected new home sales, it would finally go back up a little. It did all early morning. But as soon as I went long, everyone sold to wait for the Greenspan speech (which at the end didn't say a whole lot). Could've...

Where is the treasury going from now till the next fed meeting?

Thanks for your input. How can I find out a little more about this "mean reversion model"?

Where is the treasury going from now till the next fed meeting?

Despite weeker than expected new home sales and consumer confidence numbers today, treasury went down again. This is the biggest slump since July, caused by Fed members confirming a rate hike. So from now till the next fed meeting, is the treasury just going to trade in a small range or droping...

What could go wrong with Treasury scalping? Or other types of scalping?

Pabst, I'm in L.A., not asia. Doesn't make a huge difference either place. I am not using any intellectual prowess doing this, otherwise, I would pre-position myself instead of following moves. As far as the sharp drops go, I've never observed price moving back that fast after a sharp drop...

What could go wrong with Treasury scalping? Or other types of scalping?

Well, when multiple numbers come out and I don't know which one will dominate, I'll just stay out. I didn't say reactions were textbook 100% of the time, but if it was even just 70%, odds are on my side, because when it goes the other way, I only lose 3 or 4 ticks. But when it goes my way, I win...

What could go wrong with Treasury scalping? Or other types of scalping?

"Expectedly" means the way it should react according to books on economic numbers, ie. any surprises that was positive for the economy (better than forecasted employment numbers, better than forecasted consumer confidence, better than forecasted housing market etc) was negative for treasury.

    Futures Trader seeks backing

What did you do wrong that you ended up day trading stocks? I scalped treasury the past 2 weeks and made good money. But I'm new to it so am curious to what could go wrong doing this in the long run. Thanks.

What could go wrong with Treasury scalping? Or other types of scalping?

I'm not all that new to trading futures. I've traded a few other things before, but "old school" style where I only traded 10 to 20 contracts, read charts and signals and kept my position for weeks. But after noticing that prices only moved at certain times, and most of the times, to economic...

What could go wrong with Treasury scalping? Or other types of scalping?

I have made good money the past 2 weeks in scalping US treasury. It reacted significantly to every economic number that came out that had to do with inflation and interest rates. I'm new to this, so to those who has tried it before, provided that I trade small (100 to 200 contracts which allows...

limiting loss on a losing futures position with inter-month spread

Seasonal repatriation? Can you explain please? I am going to check the October price patterns for the past couple of years. I might still want to close it out for now (prices came back up yesterday after US trade figures came out). If it happens in October, then I'm not going to tight up that...
