I saw that on the Z8 as well (slightly different levels) but we were still in the trade short. Sometimes is works to reverse (like today) and sometimes not (like yesterday afternoon). I like the trailing stop as it seems to cut down on overtrading.

You're welcome! I'm already liking it better myself.

Stopped out 45.75, +9.5. (edit) BB, I am using a 5pt stop. ESZ8 got to 40.75. It might just be ET clock is a little bit off, I remember there was discussion about it on ES journal. Current time is 1:30PM EST. Edit: yep, 3 min slow (better as I think it got up to 8 min or so)

Still trailing stop, currently at 47.25. Could this turn into another runner?

People are covering their positions and/or options as well. If you are using a tick chart, then you definitely need to go where the most volume is.

    Rule of 10 Journal

Filled short, almost immediately stopped out. Looks like a gap fill that V has warned to watch out for. That's ok though...can't win them all. New short at 55.25. I'm looking at it now, I probably should not have taken the previous short as we had two reaction lows. I was a little...

    Rule of 10 Journal

Today is a more difficult day because of multiple reaction highs/lows. Yesterday, I don't think there was much disagreement on trades. Today I missed what looks like a very good trade. I think it is really up to the trader to decide exactly for themselves. I'm a coservative trader so I...

I recently switched from 5min chart to 512tick chart.

I dont see that but I do see 40.75 as the low, so my sell was at 50.75. So far not hit. (I'm on ESZ8 have you switched over yet?)

    Rule of 10 Journal

Yep it did get back there, but I used a new reaction high so my buy was at 32.50.

I think move down to 31.25 (i edited my other post as well) This is again an example of being conservative vs. aggressive. (relating back to post to SS)

    Rule of 10 Journal

I see that as well. I however am using the reaction high around 8:45AM EST on the 512 tick chart at 45.00-45.75. Here is where you can be a slightly more aggressive vs. conservative. You could use 35.75 to get in long or at 35.00. I have a long at 35.00 (edit to fix numbers) Edit...

Sorry. I think using a trailing stop is going to help trading out tremendously. Every once in a while you can get a 15-25 pt runner, which keeps you in a trade and causes you to not get stopped out on the opposite side.

I believe so, although you are using different terminology then i would. Stop on the trade would be 1197. Once 1203 is hit, one contract is filled / sold. Stop then moves to 1198 (20 ticks = 5pts) and trailed (at 20 ticks = 5pts). I prefer points too, however the software uses ticks for it.

I neglected to post that I was stopped out on the runner at 50.00. +17.50 Profits for the day were somewhere around $900 after commission. I haven't received my statement yet...I'll post tomorrow with the numbers. Overnight, no trade as the markets have been too volatile and possible...
