Gap and go days lately seem to trend the entire day (observation, no hard statistics). I would wait closer to the end of the day That is if you don't mind holding long over the weekend

numbers any minute...got an add on at 1414.75 just in case the market spikes on the news. Edit: (8:40EST) Didn't get 1414.75. Closing out first target here at 1395.75. ET timestamp is off by a few minutes.

Ok just placed my short here at 1405.50. I plan on placing my stop at 1412. In afterhours right now, I have my catastrophic stop at 1428. Targets 1396, 1381, and 1370.

I will be looking to initiate a short position near the close. I don't see any weakness in the charts yet but the r/r is too good to pass up at current leves (1397). Ideally, I'd like to see the market get to 1404. I suspect we might get there as gap and go days lately seem to trend...

f9, I do trade both intraday and overnight. I thought there was at least a 50% chance we could hit 1350 this week. I considered risking 10pts of profits for 25 more was worth it. I did almost pull another contract off but decided not too. I thought if my stop was hit, we would be more...

sorry for the late post, stopped out on remaining contracts at 1386. Missed a good place to cover (in hindsight) on the 30 and 60m chart around 9am est.

For the overnight session, I am watching to see if RSI bottoms out in order to get out of my short position. When I posted previously, it looked like RSI was bottoming out on some different time frames. Not so much now... Agreed on MACD Histogram. Before I joined the board, I never used...

For the overnight session I will be moving my stop out to the 1415 (catastrophic stop). I'm watching the 240m and daily for any bullish signs and may exit this short position later tonight. Nice to ride a trade with b1s2 :)

that's just some bad luck. my long this morning was only because of good luck not being able to fall asleep. Also take a look at the 240 to daily trade theory as it could show a long signal later today.

Thanks! I thought I saw almost a perfect 15m MACD that I posted, were you not interested in that at all? I liked the RSI setup on the 15m and the 30m

Wow shocked. I'm on fire today. I walk away for an hour, get some fresh air and make some lunch. Exiting 2 contracts (4 remain) at 1374.50. Moving stop to 1386. next target at 1354.

Welcome. I just look at the internals briefly as I come from a stock traders background. Rising tide lifts all boats. I'm going to exit my position in the next 10 min or so and take a short. I see RSI weakness in the 15m and forming on the 30m charts. I'll post on edits here shortly...

Sure I look at a few internal indicators like Advance / Decline line, New Hi's / New Lo, TRIN, and also VIX (NYSE and then I look at Nasdaqs internals as well) Basically, I see all major indices in the green and dow transports are green. At the time of my post Adv/Dec line was about BE and...

Thanks. I'm on the west coast so usually do my analysis before I go to bed around 11. Saw a possible setup and then I couldn't fall asleep so i checked the markets and saw the mkts bottoming out.

Not seeing internals strong enough to add to position but still like the trade overall. Stop raised to 1374 and pulling off a contract here at 1390.25. +8.5 Next target 1396 and will raise my stop to be on remaining contract.

Small position here long at 1381.75. I'm seeing some bottoming out on the 30m and 60m charts. I'd like to see some confirmation tomorrow with the internals for me to add to position. I have a catastrophic stop located at 1348 and will look to tighten up parameters during the trading session.

I always thought Blackguard was Vols alter ego and purposely making the opposite calls of what he thought was going to happen.... What happened to Iloveoptions? I was hoping he would start an ES options thread...but I guess I will just have to do it here at some point.

Oso, I agree with you. However, I never said leverage affected market risk, so I'm not sure where I gave that impression. I was simply explaining (without knowing OTs account size) why he might pull stops in low volatility periods. Someone with only 10k in capital couldnt pull a stop...

Extremely low leverage. I agree with OT about pulling hard stops in low volume periods. Say your account is $200,000. You could easily hold 25 ES contracts overnight and have plenty of excess liquidity. Now imagine, if you only traded 2 contracts? Even if you took a 50pt loss, you would...

I'm looking to exit this trade out before the close. Stop at BE and target at 1381.75. Don't mind holding long as the hourly is starting to look bullish but already have enough longs for the weekend. Edit: Stopped at BE, have a good weekend all
