I can't believe this. The market is going to wipe out most of my profits with this move (for the year I expect). I've written a bunch of Sept calls and started writting Oct calls as I thought Sept calls were toast. now I'm going to get hit on both of them... So much for stabilizing the...

True, I think I had my best day ever. I'll definitely be getting a steak for dinner...but can't really take credit for a call. Edit: And I was thinking of shorting gold near 900 but didn't :(

Called it as well...although problem is it went against us by about 40pts when we made the call.. So at least when I make a call...immediately trade against it and then reverse in an hour.

Yea I've had that problem in the past (been trading on IB for 8 years so not trying to bash or anything...) Then about a minute later as I was trying to figure out if I got filled all prices went to 0.

I hope so too. Almost every single person I know has called me on the market and what to do. I tell them that for anyone under 50, this is a buying opportunity. "How will I know when it hits bottom" Only after the fact, that's why you should average in over time (using a 401k...

    Rule of 10 Journal

A huge part of trading is discipline and with the markets the way they are currently it is ok not to trade. I will be looking Monday to see if we can settle down enough to trade.

I guess I should probably say I shouldn't be so quick to move my stop above BE. Notice how the original stop level (89.50) was not touched until Fed announcement (I would have closed out before)

Amazes me how much the bid ask book has 'slimmed' down. I don't recall the bid / ask ever being down so much. 5 depth of less than 1k in certain cases whereas previously we saw just current bid or ask at 1k or more...
