Does anyone know why YM (Dow) futures rose 120 points at 4PM.

In fact, what you are trying to understand is speculative activity, which involves buying when price rises and selling when price falls. This activity leads to the boom and bust in prices and this may seem like arbitrage but it's a just market destabilizing activity.

Hey, Swim. I am back home. I been going to investing.com for 3 years because I found there are more people. It was much more fun to discuss trading there. Quite often, you come across weird move. There is no particular reason if you are seeking from fundamental perspective. I don't really get what you mean by arbitrage...historically, arbitrage activity involves high risk and low returns...it's actually a textbook concept. In the real world, I...

Dude, do you think people lose money on real account because of emotion? People believe they do well on demo because they don't lose REAL money. They randomly leave A few positions open and wake up next morning, finding that position is earning over $1,000. That's called illusion dear, not...

Lessons from the crash of 2008

If wall streets only drive up stock prices then it would not be an issue. The problem is they drive up commodity prices as well. Everyone is talking about rising oil prices, which is disconnected from fundamentals of supply and demand

    Guru trade

Thanks, man :) We are elite traders after all so it is not surprising that everyone wins eventually. Believe or not, I held a long at 1.293 in pound yesterday and it made a shootup to 1.303 so again had a green day. Trading after all isn't that hard. Rather, I will have rare losing days in the...

    Intraday martingale with futures

I actually don't understand your idea but as far as holy grail is concerned, one needs to analyse who drives prices and how they behave in the market. Besides, you need to monitor spot markets closely when you trade on futures markets. Having said that, if you have been on a good run, that's...
