Profiting from the Madness - Inverted IC - ultra high IV

True. I just don't like the premium i'm paying for the calendar spreads at least when I model them. I'll take a look though.

Does we got a stance on this dance? Consensus.

Trying to wrap my mind around a couple issues tied to this. Shady broker organizes a pump and dump on a penny stock promotes in on message boards yada yada yada in early and out on top. My understanding this is illegal. Is targeting a known short the same thing in a directed way? In some...

Profiting from the Madness - Inverted IC - ultra high IV

Just throwing this out there as an idea. I'm probably missing something with this and I'm sure getting filled would be a bitch at the moment so this is probably irrelevant. With crazy high IV the deep ITM call and put spreads trade in odd ways. Trumpification of the options and what not...

Trading for People who have a Job

For me any undefined risk trade I'm not doing with the day job. This hypothetical strangle is a good example of why not.

Trading for People who have a Job

yikes. Roll up the put I guess recapture some and hope it pulls back. Either take the loss or roll the call at expiration and hope for sanity. Not wanting to quote Keynes and something about markets can remain irrational longer than one may remain solvent.

Trading for People who have a Job

I'm in the same boat. The day job is the primary income and takes my focus. Too many meetings to sit through on zoom and travel every week in a non-covid times. I've gravitated to trading weekly flies in a basket of stocks. Put them on early in the week and carve out some time on Friday for...

So are you using this set up with a slight directional bias and target for the underlying? If you're doing 1:2:1 this is leaving you with 30 delta long or short? Is it the wider profit window that makes this more attractive?

    The Calendar Play Book

Thanks for putting this together. Very insightful. I'm looking to add more calendars to my trading strategy. Have been looking for set ups where the front month has a IV that is at least 15% higher than the back month. Do you ever trade these in a calendar campaign strategy where you have...

    Destriero - Butterfly Trades

Very interesting. That's quite a project. Right now I'm working a strategy based on pinning and OI using flies to short the guts at the high OI. These are usually 2 to 4 day plays with a directional bias. I like longer DTE ones around earnings broken wing put side to collect a credit and...

    Destriero - Butterfly Trades

I fell you. I'm in the same boat working a weekly fly strategy. I'm trying to develop the patience to ride them out to expiration and have better exit strategies.
