broke/ unemployed and out of options so i signed up for the military.

Unless you get stop-lossed, maimed or killed, that is. Pat Tillman enlisted right after 9-11 with the declared purpose of coming back with Bin-Laden's head in a bag. You enlisted after getting married and having kids saying that you weren't living the big life. I sure hope your wife...

    CL Redux

I missed that action - was having a very expensive chicken sandwich :D - but was looking before to short at 73.60-80. However, I got blindsided by the euro (btw, nice long, NoDoji). 72.80-73.00 was a reasonable profit-taking zone, the subsequent break was way too clean (with euro up and ES...

Marijuana cant be that profitable, can it?

This is a good movie/documentary on the economics of marijuana in North America: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1039647/ You're not counting expenses and the police figure is most probably way inflated (they could be giving the retail value of the production of the plants over a year): no...

New trader. Is my strategy ridiculous?

There are not Zimbabwe dollars anymore: In an effort to combat inflation and foster economic growth the Zimbabwean Dollar was suspended indefinitely on 12 April 2009.[108] Zimbabwe now allows trade in the United States Dollar and various other currencies such as the South African Rand, Euro...

    Hard Stops vs Mental Stops

In the pits, if the trader holds both slips (and opened your sister's trade and remembers it), yes, which is why before Globex large off-site traders (Tudor Jones, Richard Dennis, etc.) used several brokers/pit traders to mask what they were doing. In electronic markets, I don't see how (but I'm...

What I do is place a couple of trades in sim mode *before* the market opens to warm up, get a feel for the volatility (yeah, I know it changes, but still). Works for me.

Forget the dollar till later in the session. Euro: central banks buying + successful Spanish auction + only 115 of >400 EUR billion in ECB refinancing (GBP moving in sympathy) Yen: best Tankan report in over two years, yen going up like crazy CAD is flat and AUD falling, but EUR + GBP +...

    What was your first computer

1984 Amstrad CPC 472 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amstrad_CPC Had to love the extra 8 kb of "memory": Its only difference to the CPC464 was the inclusion of an add-on board containing 8 kB of memory. The additional memory was not available to the CPU, its sole purpose was to increase...
