Thanks Don, I look forward to improvements. You've been helpful on numerous occasions since I joined Bright and I appreciate it.

    Software platform for Bright

I sent this to Don, but wanted to post here so people could add suggestions. 1. Make Redi compatible with all major video cards. With my Matrox card Redi loads to only one monitor. 2. Although I don't use many charts, Redi charts are pathetic. Nasdaq traders need them. 3. Ability to have...

Stock Halt--What happens between halt and dehalt?

That was just JNPR, and I think it was more like 800% from June 2000 to Feb 2001. By then I wasn't doing the halts anymore.

Stock Halt--What happens between halt and dehalt?

So YOU were the guy beating me to the shares! lol If I remember, you use Cyber? I believe that Cyber was especially well set up for that strategy. My best one was 9+ points on a few hundred BRCM after a split announcement. I only got whacked once when I read the PR that was good, but...

    No, it will be rejected.

    Software platform for Bright

I agree. Today I set up my XKeys (www.xkeys.com) to work with Redi...so far it works great. My only complaint so far is lack of flexibility with Redi's order hotkeys. Other retail systems let you tailor your orders better.

Stock Halt--What happens between halt and dehalt?

Usually there is some poor sap who isn't bright enough to watch his open orders (on ECN's only!) after the market is closed. Those are the shares you will be buying/shorting. So for example, LLTC is halted because MXIM is going to buy them. LLTC was halted at $27. The closest shares...

Stock Halt--What happens between halt and dehalt?

In my example I was buying stock on good news (back then there was such thing as good news). You could also do the same thing on the short side (on bad news) because there is no uptick rule after hours.

Stock Halt--What happens between halt and dehalt?

Back in '99 & '00 when halts were still worth playing I used to make some good money being the first to grab any available ISLD shares. I would look at nasdaqtrader.com to see what time the halt was going to end, then one minute before that just start clicking away. Orders are just rejected...

    Redi Window Positions

I run Win2k with dual Matrox G450's. My Redi Plus spans two out of three monitors. For some reason when I load Redi it will only open on the monitor I have designated as the primary desktop. I have tried using Matrox-->Window Positions-->Automatic (and I saved it) but it still loads only on...

    "Bright Trading"

I switched over to Bright remote in May. So far here are my thoughts: Pro's: -good support, even for remotes. -so far Redi has been reliable as far as downtime. -they make training available at any time (Vegas!) -you have the option of visiting any office around the country to learn new...

Get ready for a possible 87

Nobody has mentioned why '87 happened in the first place. Once the market started crashing a portfolio insurance company (LOR) was forced to sell futures to make up for the losses in equities. The problem was that their model was flawed, and it just became a snowball effect. That won't happen...

    Great S&P Adds/Take outs...

Obviously you are adding risk to the trade by holding overnight, but you could actually do both methods in one trade. Example: RD had a sell imbalance. You put in a MOC buy for 2000 shares. A few mins before the close you short 1000. In this case you would make $2 on the 1000 shares, and...
