    Index futures up huge overnight

How much money has mymini lost in the past 2 weeks? Inquiring minds want to know.

Use neighbor's unsecured WiFi as backup connection?

Not sure that they would ever know. I actually talked to a Verizon guy who does business sales and asked if I could use the card and service for my chart service -- he said no problem and he demonstrated it in my office.

Looks like you have a problem with being premature.

Can you trade just on feel

I read the article about Soros and his back too. Basically, you get instincts -- your subconscious mind is processing all of the information that took years for you to work thru and make sense out of. For example, I recently started trading futures. Most people would think I'm an idiot...

    Black Monday

I think this is more probable. We're fairly oversold in the short-term. If I learned anything trading over the past 5 or so years is that it's to trust my indicators more than the message boards!

    I paid for 'the Secret'

There are 2 things I know for sure: 1) There is a God; and 2) None of you are him.

    Erin Burnette from CNBC

2% down? No big deal. Most money managers did worse. If your clients can't tolerate a 2% drawdown, well then . . . . You'll be fine.

The time 2 buy is now big rally coming

For what it's worth, my short-term (hours to days) indicators look somewhat bullish but my intermediate-term (weeks) indicators look bearish. So this may be in-line with some of the other posts above.

Taking 76K to 500K by Year End

Nice job on recovering from your mistakes early in the week. As a once great band from the 70's and 80's once said, "Don't Stop Believin'!"

Anyone holding long into the weekend?

Absolutely, but part of the reason I think the market will be up on Monday is because nobody wanted to be long over the weekend. I was talking with a few traders and they were scared out of their pants to be long at the end of the day - which may mean it's the right move on a purely SHORT-TERM...

Anyone holding long into the weekend?

I think we go up on Monday (at least for that day). My Int-Term momentum indicators still look negative.

The last few days is like gambling

Not sure why people complain -- you either have trading strategies in your arsenal for different environments or you don't. If you can't trade in a certain environment, then figure out why. Don't whine about the market.

Abby J. Cohen: Stocks underpriced, Value everywhere

Don't hold me to this, but if I recall correctly, I think Abby also was fairly negative on the market a day or two before the bottom in October 2002. I remember e-mailing one of my colleagues and saying, "it's time to buy!"

A Letter (And Concession) To The Bulls

Why do people feel the need to create threads like this? Whether you're right or wrong, this type of arrogance will get you killed in the market -- at some point.

    Congrats to Schindler!

I think the best thing about this is that from everything I can tell, Aaron is a good guy. It's good to see people like him doing well.

I can not trade futures in this enviroment

It's really interesting to see these comments. It is telling that there are so many different ways to trade. When I look at futures, I'm more of a swing trader and when I saw today's open, I was looking to buy. The position went against me a little bit initially but as someone said (Spectra?)...

The time 2 buy is now big rally coming

Let's put aside whether your conclusion is right or wrong. Do successful traders even base their decisions on the stuff you said? It sounds like what some mutual fund manager would say. I believe successful traders just look at the charts and their indicators.

Something bad to happen in NY in March '07...

Squadron: I don't fully believe in all of this type of analysis but I no longer completely dismiss it as I used to do. I now know at least some of the theory behind stuff like this.

    Managed accounts

If you're going this route, I would look into a limited liability company (LLC) over a limited partnership due to the flexibility and limited liability for all owners. If I were going to market a hedge fund, I might then look at the limited partnership due to the familiarity of such fund...
