    Esignal data and IB data

Sometimes IB update is slower (<5% of the time), sometimes eSignal update is slower (>95% of the time). And also IB doesn't update each tick. When market is busy, eSignal can seriously lag or become completely frozen.

Intel Dual Core better for trading/video edit?

eSignal doesn't support multiprocessing. But having dual core/processor still help since I run TS/eSignal/TWS at the same time. Anyway, there are many threads on whether dual cores can really help. But the real thing I want to know is whether AMD or Intel should be chosen since AMD's...

Intel Dual Core better for trading/video edit?

Even if we assume that there is no compatibility issue (between AMD and eSignal), is it valid to say that Intel is better than AMD for trading since AMD's strength in floating no calculation and memory architecture is less important since eSignal/TS puts a heavy emphasis on arithmetic...

Intel Dual Core better for trading/video edit?

I hv just seen the posts there. Here is a poll from there. My AMD 64bit and eSignal crashes at least once daily 1 11.11% My AMD 64bit and eSignal crashes infrequently 2 22.22% My AMD 64bit and eSignal has never crashed. 2 22.22% I don't use an AMD 64bit with eSignal but wanted...

Intel Dual Core better for trading/video edit?

I hv heard that AMD is better for gaming (heavy at floating pt calculation) while Intel is better for trading/video edit. Is it true? I am considering either buying a Intel dual core (940/950) or AMD dual core (4600+/4800+). I know that AMD has its memory controller built in and it can do...

    Hardware/CPU needed for X-Trader/X-Trader Pro?

Recently there are so many threads on the issue that eSignal/TS/J-Trader (and even X-Trader) appear frozen.... If upgrading the hardware itself can solve the issue then it is relatively easy. But sometimes it is due to the datafeed and then this is a real problem.... esp X-trader is already...

    TS Matrix looks strange

My TS Matrix looks strange. The last price (yellow cell) is updated while bid/offer are either lagging or not being updated at all. In the attached captured screen, the left hand side is the IB data (with Zeroline Trader frontend) and the right side shows the TS Matrix. Is anyone else...

a relatively simple question on dual processor/core

Then I would rather buy a dual core Athon64x2 at lower freq than a high-end single core Athlon64. I am running TS, Esignal, IB, etc at the same time and getting 2 processors/cores may be a better deal. BTW, some info for you: i) AMD has just lowered the price of Athlon64x2...

a relatively simple question on dual processor/core

There are many threads on whether dual processor/cores can make a difference to the overall system performance. Some ppl say that the improvement is there but others say that it is not significant since most trading applications don't support dual core/processor. Just one relatively simple...

which CPU benchmark should I use?

http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu.html Many benchmarks there.... which one most resembles a real-life trading station??? Maybe each one's trading machine is different. So let's say it has below things running at the same time: - 8 monitors - eSignal - IB - Ninjatrader - TS

And I hv read before here that many IB/HF hv huge short positions in natural gas. With the recent huge drop, they hv made another killing again.
