    Trading as an art form

The options price is obviously just a reflection of the stock price. His examples like GME and AMC is clearly abnormal and unusual movement. His reference to AAPL was a good one because as he said, it was the last holdout waiting to make a move south. So in a way, the odds are leaning on the...

Are you able to post a 1 minute chart like you have done in the past with the trades? Thanks!

Why does this happen ? Please help

Well if its stops that are being executed, then in means that first of all, someone had a buy order waiting at that price, and the seller of the stock was willing to sell it. If price is dropping, there are still transactions happening so the buyers and sellers agree. (If nobody wanted to buy...

Why does this happen ? Please help

This is a rather poor answer coming from a pro in my opinion. For every transaction, there is a buyer and a seller. Their motivations might be different, and that is what creates the sudden moves, but it doesn't change the fact that for someone to want to sell, someone has to buy, and vice versa.

    IB MES commissions today

At IB, for MES and MNQ, the price is 52 cents, so $1.04 for the round trip.

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

Is it not possible that with a few hours to go, that penny bid could climb higher? I would think that over dozens of trades, for each trade that you exit for that penny profit so you don't take the full loss on the option, there are some that will make it back to 10 or 20 cents. I do lot of...

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

Is the 5k risk simply that the option just expires worthless? If you're buying options for 16 cents or there abouts, I can see how not being worried about what happens to them is a huge weight lifted off the decision making process. Is letting options expire worthless a good risk mitigating...

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

I'm very appreciative of your replies Dustin. Your willingness to fully disclose your thought process and the entire anatomy of the trade should leave no doubt for the skeptics that profitable traders do exist.

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

Excellent. I'm quite rusty on options stuff since I'm heavily into trading ES/NQ, so bear with me please. So 16 cents is very cheap for an option. I guess this was the market pricing in the low probability of a move down to $48 for this last day before expiry, correct? How often do these...

    Day Trading to Multimillionairedom

You certainly get into liquidity constraints. ES isn't as thick as it used to be. The size posted at each BID and ASK isn't the same as years ago, and I think the volume is a bit down as well. If you need to buy 100 contracts at one price level, it might be possible, but looking at volumes...

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

And to put this into context, how many times in that month would you try? If a good month has 5 winners, have you tried 20 times maybe, with 10 being small losses and 5 maybe being break even trades? Perhaps of the winners, most just turn into small wins, but 10% end up being huge wins? I...

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

This is priceless information. I think this right here is the key to how you make money. You're working the trade, always adjusting, and your years of experience tells you how to adjust. No different than a master mechanic that can tune an engine based on the sound its producing.

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

That is the fear in all of us, and honestly, it happens, and clearly even to Dustin. I think the key is that his strategy doesn't change. I mean look at the trade summary. Many positions go nowhere or are all small losers. You never quite know where the big win is, but you gotta keep taking...

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

Thanks for this chart and the explanations once again. It seems to me that you are first more of a chart trader. If this is true, I like this because it seems that most guys think that the only way to make lots of money is via the math route and not even looking at a chart. All the data...

    Day Trading to Multimillionairedom

I applaud you for your honesty. But I think with trading, there are many steps to master before you make it. Taking money out of the equation is one of the last few where trading just become a function of trade size vs. account size. This of course takes into account probabilities and all...

Anatomy of a fun 2-day trade (AMC +$60k)

It absolutely is! I liked your commentary on the chart. I doubt its as simple as this, but on the surface, it seems like you had targeted AMC to make a move, and had both calls and puts. Then as you said in a post above, add to the winners, never to the losers, and this is what you did. Now...

And that is exactly why it will be impossible to fix this problem until it comes crashing down. The corporations know they have devised the perfect scheme. They literally have the government protecting them because each time the issue of raising taxes is brought up, or removing the loophole of...
